Erick welcomes conductor Jason Max Ferdinand of The Aeolians of Oakwood University to Chor Leoni Inside. Oakwood University is a private, historically black university in Huntsville (Alabama) operated by the Seventh-day Adventist Church. The Aeolians enthralled audiences at the 2019 national convention of the American Choral Directors Association, and in 2017 were Choir of the World champions. In describing their music, they state that “Aeolian performances present a repertoire of choral music which ranges from the Baroque era to the twenty-first century. They have become an authoritative exponent of Negro spirituals and Work songs which express the yearnings of their forefathers to be free.”
