CHOPs (Channel Operators) - Basic Motion Channels in Houdini by SideFX
Фильм және анимация
CHOPs, short for 'Channel Operators', are tools for creating and changing channel data. Most everything in Houdini is channel data. For example, the position of a geometry consists of 3 channels parameters: tx, ty, and tz. Audio data is another example of channel data. Even pixels in images have several channels: Red, Green, and Blue.
In this video, we provide a first look at CHOPs, by creating a simple, 2 node CHOP network that controls the motion of a sphere.

Thank you! It's hard to find good material about CHOPs, but this was very helpful and concise at the same time.
Man. This is life saver. Haha. I was wondering a solution that similar to Speed graph in After Effect (or Time Track in C4D) to control all my Camera parameters keyframes. This means all XYZ from Position and Rotation keyframes need to be controlled. And I've never thought about CHOPs until now. This tutorial really give me an idea. Thank you!
Excellent, thank you.

Thank you
This is the best vid i've seen how to actually use the CHOP network, thank you so much. is it possible to create two channels and apply them to the same parameter? so you could "blend" or "mix" animations?

It is possible! There are several wants to merge and combine two separate channels into one. This is actually going to be the topic of my next video on CHOPs! You might want to look at the Simple Blend CHOP if you want a fast and easy way to mix two channels.
thankyou
