It's a pleasure to watch these videos takes me back to young boy time. Neighbors worked together as a team to get each other's silage cut. Was wagons to begin with then pulled farm truck back wards then dump wagons to semis lived it all and always liked it as the combine harvest as well.

I’m amazed at the size of these dairy units in the US. I was brought up and worked on the family 80 cow dairy unit in the UK until I was 24. Great videos you publish Mike and thank you for a look into the impressive US dairy industry.

Yes, I did notice those birds. Great stuff, as always, and I do love these corn silage things. As the year draws to an end one reflects on things past, and I remember when you passed 1000 subs about a couple of months after I started watching you. Hope you and your family have a safe and great forthcoming 2019.

We had a freak accident first year we helped out cutter was running the truck along side cutter and corn stalk caught quick drain valve on oil pan drained oil out but caught it in time very lucky to have seen it before engine was wrecked. After that we learned to tie the lever on the valve with a plastic tie

Beautiful video. I get a big smile on my face when I see and hear all the machines. I was wondering about the forage harvesters spout. They can recognize the trailer automatically? How does it work? A big thankyou to you for all the work you put in to make these awsome videos.

Looks like the Claus moves faster than Deere. Deere has two extra rows but it appears a ten row head may actually be better. Claus makes a mean machine.

The new Deere choppers have the new technology to set up on the trucks and the chopper operator controls the truck and they are self loading... there’s a few videos out there of an eight year old running his dad’s chopper and it doesn’t have the technology I just spoke of... It’s something watch an eight year old running an almost million dollar machine!

The Claas is going faster but has a smaller head,it also has more horsepower than the John Deere. The John Deere is going a bit slower, has a larger head, and has less horsepower. Claas makes a good machine but I have to go with John Deere here. But I'm a New Holland fan myself. I see a lot of them up here in Wisconsin.

I wonder why they wouldnt upgrade the header on the claas. I know for sure that the claas has more horsepower and it has a better drive system. I believe they can go to a twelve or sixteen row header(pushing it) and still maintain speeda

chunkmen Theres No such thing as a 16 row silage head. Claas makes a 6, 8. 10 and 12 row. I’d pick the 10 row for a 970 any day. The 12 row is 35 grand more than the 10. Rather drive 20% faster, you’ll do the same T/hour and these guys most likely get paid by the ton. So money the their pocket really. On top of that, your travel speed with 12 row goes from 40km/hour to 25 due to the wait of the header.

Watching the drone footage I noticed quite a bit of over shoot from the Class harvester. And not near as much with the Deere harvester. Then ground shots directly from behind with more bounce in the offload auger on the Claas than the Deere. Is it the shoot, suspension, tire size and inflation? Or some or all of above.

Hello Mike. Question, watching these combines in the way they cut the corn stocks swirling around the way they do. It's almost hypnotic. Does it have any effect on the driver watching that all day? I don't know much about farming... All I know is what I learned from the Mike Bloomsburg School of Farming.

I'm glad I finally looked up how these industrial sized lawn mowers work. Pretty nifty toys. Which is better? Don't know, don't use them but they all are using the same basic technology. Who makes a more reliable package I guess is what experience would tell. I did hear elsewhere that John Deere is being called under fire for keeping their software near and deer to their hearts. And after telling farmers they would release the information on their equipment so they could service their own equipment or through third parties, they have sandbagged. So whoever is best, John Deere gets a no vote of confidence for yanking the farmers around. Boo..........

Mike, that Claas looks to me that it outclassed that JD, it sounds like it is hardly being pushed and it has power to spare, one mean machine. Your intro of the dairy looked like a catering hall, but I guess if your a cow you'ld have your wedding there. Worked a summer on a family farm, 40 girls, tail to tail in the barn, I was the master of the pitch fork & shovel.
