I had the opportunity to talk with Chopper twice. Once in 1999 I was walking my grocery shop home and he pulled over and asked if I wanted a lift. I recognised him and I am just a girl and he scared me a bit, so I said "no" to the lift, of course. Then in 2009 I was visiting a friend in commission flats in Collingwood and who should be sitting in an arm chair watching David Attenborough on t.v. none other than Mark Chopper Reid. I was formally introduced to him as Mark and he said "g'day Heather, how are you today?". I replied "Good thanks.' and that was the end of the conversation and I left my mate's flat. Me personally, find guys like him rather scary but I do enjoy watching his rants and interviews as he sure was a one of a kind sort of bloke. There won't be too many Chopper Reids ever on the planet. He has a gorgeous little boy as well that I wish does well in his life. There you go, that's my Chopper Reid story. RIP Mark.

I was playing the god damn pokies at the Royal Oak in Double Bay.....around 2005...ish. Chopper and Rogerson were drinking beers in the corner. I think it was when they were doing their “comedy” routine...lol. I had to do a double take...it was kind of surreal, as the bar was quiet.

Agreed met him when I was working down in the cross in sydney, had a yarn with him behind the tunnel when I was a kitchen hand there, Old boy was on the phone blowing someone up. alot of kings around this time misjudged him, thinking he was just a "crazy old fool". Truth is he had everyone fooled, it was all an alias so people couldnt see the sneaky, articulate, man he really was. "The bloke who has the last laugh wins" Chopper Reid.

I remember when Chopper had just finished his sentence at Risdon and he said on TV of Alphonse Gangitano, "I fear 'big' Al is not long for this world" (owtte). He possibly said it a couple of times indicating he knew what was going on. Perhaps it was a taunt or even an instruction. The way he said 'big' he was taking the piss because he mentioned the only place Al was big, was in his own mind. Of course shortly after we all know what happened.

@Heather Elliott oh yeah liver disease no pain what's so ever Damn y'all are stupid. Chopper actually died of liver cancer as a result of liver failure brought on by hep c. Now I don't kno Anythng about his day to day life as far as his pain level goes dealing everyday with the hep c but he had to under go two liver transplants which im sure were painful then he ultimately died of the liver cancer with tumours all over his liver which I assure u is highly painful even with morphin. Point being he was very much in pain and if u consider that as being the winner well then im not sure what to say but sounds more like karma to me but either way rip chopper he was the best

He was in a lot of pain liver cancer is agony and he was riddled with it. In the last few weeks hed have good hours and bad days but he was on morphine for it, that's what caused him to doze off during other interviews around the same time. The cancer was the size of a melon sticking out of his stomach he shows it in another interview. Lastly he was actually offered a liver transplant but they weren't sure it would work there was more risk of rejection than normal, so he declined to take it so somone else with a higher chance of it not getting rejected could use it.

Chopper calling anyone else "two bob nothings" is hilarious. Mark Moran lived in a million dollar mansion, back when a million was a lot of money, and drove expensive cars and had pockets bursting with $100s. Chopper spent about 8 months outside of prison his entire adult life, trying to take Judges hostage. A great story teller, but a nothing in the criminal world outside of pentridge.

Before the rear of Judy's house was set on fire, from a flat I stayed at a couple of times, I could look down onto this most beautiful stained glass window of a green parrot ... I've looked over the back fence since, but sadly must've been destroyed in the fire ...
