Argerich has some serious pedaling issues in the first movement. The transition to the trio section of the Scherzo movement is rushed; the trio itself is musically non-existent. I find her rubato distorts the musical line in the third movement, she overplays and overpedals the ending of this movement also. The last movement is perhaps the best, although again the rubato and pedaling is overdone; and she slaps the very last chord of the piece! Yes, she is 79, but she wasn't much better in her younger years. How she ever won the Chopin competition I'll never know. 😫 You can hate me in your replies if you want to. Everyone is entitled to his/her opinion!
