ルービンシュタインのショパン演奏を聴くと、とにかく心が和らぎ、さぁこれから１日頑張るぞ、👊✨という気持ちになるから不思議です。鍵盤から、音が珠の様に弾け、その音の何とも気持ちの良いこと。まるで春の小川のせせらぎを聴く様です。いつしか私は日に何度もルービンシュタインのショパン演奏を聴くのが、日課になってしまいました。今、私は自分が目指す分野で、ルービンシュタインの様に一流の人になりたい、と熱い思いで毎日を過ごしております。ルービンシュタインには感謝の言葉しか御座いません。

His dramatic range and clarity and depth are unique. Purposeful and in the moment. Visionary. Quite daring at his age.

That Rubinstein sound like an intimate whisper, a heart that yearns.

Wonderful singing secondary theme..Rubinstein!

I played this piece when I was 19 but never understood its meaning. In subsequent years I listened to various artists who all had different approaches and so that piece remained an enigma........until I heard Rubenstein play it. He had a master understanding of the whole piece and instinctively knew each phrase in relation to each other and his playing is so articulate that, as one commenter noted, it was played as if it were done by two people.

For me, his memory will always be a blessing. Thank you Maestro.

I was very fortunate to see Rubinsteiin twice in person in Birmingham Alabama first with the Alabama Symphony Orchestra (when he did the Tchaikovsy Piano Conerto) ca. 1961 and then again in a solo recital in 1971. Great, great pianist :-}

Best recording of the piece on my opinion. Just love the a bit "slow" but so clear begining and of course the whole recording. I always find something new while listening this recording.

At minute 4:08-4:09 the repeated two chords (re-appearing from minute 5:15) reminds me of #LyleMays / #PatMetheny opening "September Fiftheenth"... Chopinian harmonies that have inspired and continue to inspire, after centuries !!! Amazing!!!

Playing in the grand manner! Ok one or two splashes and a slight memory lapse in the dramatic central section. What spontaneity though, and how beautifully he shapes the secondary major key theme. Rubinstein truly shone in front his adoring audiences.

This is a piece you will be coming back to all your piano playing life. No one can play it to his own satisfaction. I have played it in over 20 years. My teachers were delighted. My recital audiences liked it. I never liked how I play it. None of my colleagues at the Conservatory liked the way THEY played it but they always liked how OTHERS played it. I even tried to forget the piece - but I can always play it. I think this piece has kind of secret musical curse. Note that this is an encore. Note that Rubinsten also has not played it recently. But in an impromptu decision Rubinstein plays it. I think he wants to be freed from the curse of this piece. Notice how he nods to the audience at the end "yeah yeah - what do you know "

Jacopo Mazzei ovviamente non penso questo ma prova a comparare il messaggio che può trasmettere un notturno di chopin piuttosto che una sinfonia di Beethoven rispetto a quello delle canzoni di sfera. Ho provato ad ascoltare delle canzoni trap e lasciamo da parte la musica e l’originalità perché su quello non avevo nessuna speranza ma nei testi ho trovato una banalità esagerata. Quel tipo di musica così come molta altra musica contemporanea non ti spinge a pensare, a trovare il significato delle cose, non richiede l’empatia che un brano di chopin richiede e quindi non porta a creare nessun legame significativo con l’autore (che nel caso del trap perde tempo ad ostentare la sua fama (effimera) e l’uso della droga). La musica che crea unione d’animi è a mio parere la più significativa e la musica trap in cui sento questo e quell’altro che si scopano le bitches, fumano la weed e bevono lo sciroppo non mi dà niente di tutto ciò.

@@aallpprr8998 Da amante e pianista(amatoriale) di Chopin penso che la musica sia un concetto puramente soggettivo. Come essa, anche un ideale ed un etica lo sono. Penso non ci siano distinzioni oggettive tra le musiche e che dipenda tutto da quanto uno sia disposto a cambiare opinione. Finché sei aperto al nuovo non importa la musica o l'ideale che hai perchè esso è soggettivo. Il mio pensiero è che quando non si sia aperti in preconcetto allora sia un discorso di ignoranza e non di musica. Ma il tuo punto è comunque molto comprensibile.

Bartoldo certo infatti ho ascoltato e provato a capire la musica trap. Penso comunque che il soggettivo abbia un limite: il disegno di un bambino non potrà mai superare quello dell’artista. Io vedo nel trapper il bambino che applica forme e concetti basilari al suo “prato con casetta e sole all’angolo del foglio” (che possono essere nel caso della musica una progressione di 4 accordi che si ripete per tutto il brano o la completa mancanza di originalità dei temi che porta a canzoni “fatte con lo stampo” proprio come i disegni dei bambini) e chopin all’artista che per mille motivi supera il bambino nel disegno indipendentemente dalla soggettività di chi giudica. L’ignoranza, credo, è proprio nei ragazzi miei coetanei che ascoltano la trap senza spingersi al di fuori di quel confine e conoscere, forse perché è così la moda o perché molti ragazzi proprio come le canzoni che ascoltano sono fatti con lo stampo.

It almoust seems there are two pianist sitting at the piano. One is doing the left hand and the other plays the right. I recon this is one of Rubistein's best peculiarities...

expliquer svp , Pollini est arrivé en 1970 apres Samson Francois inégalable, apres Clara Haskil et Lili krauss ( deux incomparables Mozartiennes ) après Clara Haskil et ses Mozart-Schumann apres Walter Gieseking avec Debussy-Ravel pres Wilhelm Kempff et ses Beethoven sans parler de Yves Nat et ses éternelles sonates de Beethoven on peut penser apres Marcelle Meyer.... alors dites moi ce que Maurizio Pollini a bien pu apporter en 1970 avec son premier disque des Etudes de Chopin ? ?

La succession entre 71 et 75, de coups de maître, considérés d'ailleurs encore aujourd'hui comme des références, suffirait à clore toute discussion : l'album Stravinsky et Prokofiev, puis les Etudes de Chopiun, puis le Schumann avec la sonate et la fantaisie op. 17, puis le Schubert sonate et wanderer, et les préludes de Chopin. Tout ceci avant durant la seconde moitié des années 70, les légendaires Beethoven. Bonne continuation. Pas spécialement utile de me répondre.

I liked the way he sat for a while,as if wondering what to play for an encore...!😚 Of course he'd decided before the concert and practised it... ever the showman!!😂 Lovely,natural technique,though never in the super-virtuoso league. As with Schnabel and Cortot,you were always guaranteed a few 'extra' notes!!!😊😋

As he said very sincerely in his autobiography, he seldom practiced much. But his memory was incredible. He never saw himself as a virtuoso. He feared Horowitz, for example.

Only Polish pianists could make Chopin sing the right way. Paderewski, Godowski, Rubinstein... Although Chopin is so universal, it's an utterly interesting exercise to compare between so many piano gods.

I think it's very obvious when you hear Rubinstein play the mazurkas. He has something that is very rare. I don't know exactly what, but it's probably the rhythm. His mazurkas sound polish. Most don't
