This video is perfect. Much more helpful than all the blogs/articles I was reading on how to choose a surf foil. Cheers.

Thanks for this video it helps a lot. Been surfing 40 years and wingfoil this last two and riding waves comfortably. I’ve been thinking about prone foil and used my Naish hover 75l with my fone phantom 1280 85cm mast for a session the other day. I’m only 65 kg so it seems like the foil aspect is covered. I’ll use the board for a while and then invest in a proper prone foil board. This video helps a lot interesting info about the stab I’ve been thinking about messing around with that for the winging changing from the c275🤙🤙

@@Wightkitesurfer fine and dandy chose a really soft crumbling wave to go out on. Did two 45 minute sessions to try it then on the third was able to paddle in get up and ride around 50 meters. No pumping back out I’ll start giving that a go once I’m settled catching and riding waves.

Nice! great to be in a position to have all the kit and some of the skills you need to make a start, your 75L will help figure foot positioning. For sure the stab plays a big part in stability too, it's well worth playing with it when you're looking for more/less help with grip. Prone foiling is not an easy journey, but the reward is well worth the effort! Keep in touch if you need any advice.

What a great, video. I will start with the spitfire 1030. What about the boards, which brand do u recommend for a 35l board? Thx

Nice foil choice, just be aware the 1030 has stacks of lift, so it’ll make pumping a dream, but steep sections and your pop up could be tricky to hold it down, maybe worth putting it towards the back of the track to begin. Hydrofoil wing screws can be a handy tool when figuring where is the right place to sit the mast for correct lift. There’s loads of good production and custom board brands now days. Shapes are always developing and some designs are more suited to certain locations, it’s worth contacting your local shop for the latest. If you are in the UK welcome to give us a shout. In short a few that come to mind - Armstrong, f-one and freedom have a solid range of production options. Appletree, Amos and swift make lovely high spec options. Plenty more good brands too.

Thanks a lot for the precise info.!!! I have a question, If I buy my first setup from a brand, let's say f-one, then I can use wings from other brands with that mast, fuselage and stabilizer.?? Can I mix the equipment or I need to keep buying the same brand in order to improve my setup.?!? Thanks in advance.!!!! 🤙🤙🤙

good question, boards have a universal track so you don't need the same brand board and foil, but should be aware that mast position is important and some brands like to fit further forwards or back in relation to your rear foot, and whilst there is a small amount of adjustment you should research to avoid a clash / poor tuning due to opposing positions. All foil systems are unique to the brand and whilst they will be designed modular so you can change components, the fittings differ hugely between brands and parts are not compatible with each other. Ie. an F-one foil will not fit on an armstrong mast. There is a growing amount of after market adaptors to bridge components, but realistically you should take your time choosing which foil system you invest into as once you've put money in the mast, fuse, wings and bolts you are committed to this brand unless you want to start fresh. Welcome to give us a call for advise on making these choices
