I'm finding more people are living in vehicles as an option rather than renting, purchasing a home, etc. As long as its safe, I can't blame them. It does take longer and more focus to buy a home anymore. I would love to see this change. It's sad what we're seeing in our country right now. It should be more reachable to purchase and own a home.

I like this guy... he's intelligent and an independent thinker. Regret that he lost his Mom so early and his Dad never clocked in. Parents are just wounded people that had a child, quite often unplanned, so we should try to forgive them their shortcomings and seek to heal ours. We have no control over our beginnings, but where we end up is up to us, once we put in the work mentally, physically and spiritually, we can create a great life for ourselves and find our happy. Best of luck to him!

so, this is Rebekka's bf? It's good to see someone is listening to you in this relationship. I'm stunned at the life these young folks have lived on your show, Romain. Folks have gone thru some traumatic things in such a short life. Romain, I thought you were going to tell him to get a tiny home that was mobile, but your advice was great. That way he only has to lease a pad for it and can move it as he has work. He listened so I'm hopeful for Jake, cause you need more than the back of a car with a baby, and a bigger SUV won't cut it when the child is 5 and getting older. The thought of me using a friends bathroom for hygiene on a daily basis, just freaks me out. not to mention, I have to wash my clothes, etc. I think God knows who's built for the "nomadic" lifestyles. Tiny Home or Duplex are great options. Get you some counseling Jake. Good luck to both of you.

This couple has a lot of mental and emotional damage, living in a car is theraputic for them, they live in a small shell, they feel protected safe and happy. Psychiatrists sometimes recomend living in a car to their patients to cure anxiety and depression. If they move into a apartment they will get sick. A car is all they can handle.

I don't know how the glass blowing job is set up for him but owning a home opens up options of doing glass work at home. I lived in a small trailer to save money. $250 a month lot rent for everything. I moved from the small space because the things I wanted to do were too big for my space. I moved out of Fla and live in a 1000 sq/ft home in Wisconsin. The cost of living is very low. Some of the people in the trailers had kids but it's hard with a small space. Retirement savings, health insurance, an emergency fund, and steady income-- if you have those things, carry a sleeping bag with you and sleep wherever you please. The only reason he's "chilling" is that he has no expenses, but we don't get to choose when we incur a life-changing expense. 10-20% of his net worth is gone the next time he needs tires. Same with a brake job. And if you start lapsing on that maintenance, the car will deteriorate even faster.

He mooches off the rest of us for his "parking spaces" and if he gets sick (Medicaid). How do you think his car and the gas he buys would be there if there were not millions of hard working people going to regular jobs to create the products he uses? Who grows, delivers, prepares and serves the food at all his restaurants? Answer: Responsible adults who works their butts off. He is a bum, a curiosity, but a bum.

Taking into account that most countries have free healthcare for all its citizens regardless of income, and Americans just accept the way it is here, instead of understanding that they already pay for health care in the form of taxes. Unites States comes in 37th place in best health care system. So he may well use what should be free for all citizens.

Hello Ryan, Thank you for your comment, I would like to respectfully disagree with your approach. It sounds like there are a lot of assumptions being made here. It's important to remember that everyone's situation is different, and not everyone follows the same path. Many people who live unconventional lifestyles are still responsible citizens who pay their taxes, have valid driver's licenses, insurance, and contribute to the economy in their own ways. Regarding parking spaces and healthcare, many of these individuals do pay for services they use and often have their own means of support. The products and services used by everyone, including those who choose a different way of life, are indeed created by hardworking people. However, it's also important to acknowledge that diversity in how people live and work can enrich society and the economy in ways that aren't always immediately obvious. We should aim for a society where different lifestyles can coexist respectfully, recognizing that not everyone fits into the same mold and that there are many ways to contribute to the community.

Very sad. I hope he and his partner find a counselor or therapist to help them both work through their childhood trauma and pull them back from the precipice. They're teetering on the edge and I hope they can make it back to normal, productive society and overcome their pasts. He mentioned enjoying being able to "go wherever he wants, whenever he wants" but I really don't see how that's possible on his income. $2500/mo (less now), at least $1500/mo going to the car and dining out. Phone bill, gym membership, laundromat, etc on top. If he started with $0, given his current savings, he's at best saving $400/mo. That is a very poor buffer. If you live in an apartment you can go sleep in the desert or at the beach also, you don't need to be homeless in a car to do that.

Do not pull money out of a mutual fund to “invest more actively” unless you wanna lose it all! Dude likes to research a lot but sometimes it’s better to set it and forget it on a simple investment. You likely won’t beat the market by trading bro, don’t do it!!

What i think when people say i like to do alot of research. My guess is they see a 15 second video clip. If a person has the capability to do.... alot.. of.. research.... they would be a well balanced life. Like its okay living your car but you save 90 percent of income. But have nothing while while living with nothing is the same as a person having a lot with alot of debt

I think having kids and god brings a lot of purpose to your life. I think you can live in a van with a fairly big family say up to 6 people if you wanted to push it. A lot of people don’t have family’s that big

I think its important to have inflation proof assets (gold and silver) and cash flowing assets (real estate) to protect against the inevitable inflation that is coming. Also what I don't think young people have been taught is exponential growth. For example most people don't know that a penny doubled every day for 31 days is almost $11 million. Having an investment account that is paid into every month, month after month, uses this to grow wealth is extremely important. A little goes a long way.

@@Bianca-yt7pd I disagree. Kids who grow up in a van aren’t just going to be in a van the same way kids in a house spend all their time in the house. The van can be in campsites. They can also have tents. Likely kids in the van life spend far more time outside and with other people than kids who grow up staying in their house all day
