Are you looking to keep your indoor plants happy, whether you have a collection of indoor plants or need to move your outdoor plants indoors for the winter? Light is a critical factor, especially for plants that crave more of it. Let's simplify things.
In this video, we'll discuss the importance of light, focusing particularly on LED grow lights. You might be wondering whether regular LED bulbs can suffice for your plants. Well, they can, but they need to meet certain criteria. We'll delve into these specifics and simplify the science behind LED grow lights, including watts, Kelvins, lumens, light distribution, PAR (Photosynthetically Active Radiation), and more.
Over the past four years, I've experimented with various LED grow lights, and in this video, I'll share practical advice on which LED lights might be the best fit for you. Please note that I'm not endorsing any specific product, but I've provided links below so you can check out user reviews and determine what suits your needs best.
We'll explore four different types of LED lights, starting with the most budget-friendly and ending with a top-of-the-line option. Join me as we assess their pros and cons and find out which one could be your perfect plant companion.

The right choice is HIGH PRESSURE SODIUM!! I have 3 Decades experience, How many do you have? PS: A 100W LED cover 1ft x 1ft and will only produce about 40 grams dry yield!!! (MAXIMUM)

@@Mrtinyfarmer HPS defeats LED in all areas. LED's are only good for seedlings, cuttings, 1st week of Veg. After that HPS all the way. All LED is to Commercial growers is a replacement for CFLs. All the worlds commercial indoor growing uses HPS for everything except seedlings and Cuttings.

You totally right. Just I used this number to make correlation. As you know better numbers like PAR are not avialable for most of these lights and then it will be hard to draw conclusion. As you know generally higher wattage bulbs produce more light.

You mean purple one? that one is Coleus. I have many coleuses and they have very different colors and foliage. If you are living in Montreal, I can give you cuts or seeds of this plant.

That one is Coleus too, another variety. I have more than 15 different coleuses but I tried to train this one to make it like tree (hopefully this time I'm right :) ). I have another video from exactly same plant (How to make bonsai from Coleus : kzread.info/dash/bejne/qZ-YrJixedqwnM4.html )

Thanks for your comment and providing details on your experiences and really appreciated. I talked about my past 4-5 years experiences and on what I tested. I didn't provide full review on all of the light types and product available in the market. It could be good idea to have another video with broader scope on all different lights or at least most common ones. About my 100W LED Hydro Mars I can say easily support and cover 2ft x 2ft very nicely. Basically any type of plants I used they were happy. These products I used in past four years usually are among those with highest number of reviews in the market so for that reasons I bought them and used them. Regarding your nice and long three decades experiences, I will buy High pressure sodium light and I will test it. Its very cool because I didn't hear too much about it. Thanks again and appreciated your comment as it will make this topic and video more enrich for other viewers :) For other readers, I checked amazon for this kind of light and provided link for them to check out if they are interested. Sylvania 400W Plantastar High Pressure Sodium Grow Light Link: amzn.to/3rrn95r Its generating really high lumen but I don't know how much is suitable for small spaces like corner of the apartment.
