I use a yeti blue mic but want to see if there are better options . Not that it is not a decent mic but starting to look for something maybe better for a usb mic since I do a lot of singing . Thanks for video .

Thanks for the hanging out with me ndv. Singing thru microphones via USB 🎶
Thank you for this video!!! I am in the market for a simple portable solution for traveling and capturing ideas on the road!!! Thanks again, this was very helpful!!!!
The SSL Connex is so jarring with how proficient it is in capturing great quality sound. It looks like a Sumerian Ziggurat but somehow manages to be right up there with the rest of these amazing microphones. To think we've come so far as to having USB MICS that can produce professional quality sound (with some solid mixing). Great video man; this was very informative and helpful. Been writing music for nearly 20 years and was looking for equipment that was both within my budget and space-conscientious. Not trying to pursue a career at this stage of my life but I definitely don't plan to stop songwriting ever so videos like this is very encouraging to hobbyists like myself. Thank you 🙏
Regular rode Nt-USB always did me right
Great Video Mr Sweetwater! I Learnt Heaps 🧠💡! From New Zealand 🇳🇿
I liked the Sennheiser Profile and the Yeti Midnight blue one the best. Thanks for this video and a song that won't leave my head for a week.

Can you make a full cover of this song?😅 Its addictive
Great job Nick! Is the protools session you used available?? Very hard to pick up subtleties through my iPhone and the internet. Is the session available?
Awesome review 👏 👌 👍
Great video 👏🏻
I was too busy dancing😂
I really liked the song actually. Need the whole song now
Any new tests of non-usb LDC mics? I'm looking for LDC mic which is neutral in sound range up to $500. Thanks!
does recording program effect the quality of the recording and which would you recommend
Thanks for a great video... which affordable microphone do you think has the best sensitivity? My friend has MSA which has resulted in his vocal cords getting tremors & deteriorating, so his voice gets breathy and cuts in and out to the point that his phone mic can't pick up most of his voice and it sounds like his signal is dropping out. I can't understand most of what he says on the phone, and he is unable to use voice to text. Unfortunately, his whole body is affected so he can't do text to voice, either! Also, could you plug these into a smartphone? Or, would he need to use his laptop to make calls with messenger or zoom, etc.? Cheers.
But what I really want to know is this: "The frequency response of a microphone is the single most determining factor of its characteristic sound." But you didn't give that information. Am I getting something wrong? That would be the high and low frequency response in the audio range of the human ear. Right?
I woke up with this song in my head lol.
I'm investing into the AKG podcast essentials 😊
can they go directly to be used with a webcam with no software to also pick up the amp or PA in the room?
So catchy!! Leaning towards the Beyerdymanic for price point and ease of use. Best comfortable headphones that aren’t too bulky with decent price point??
I liked the sound of rode and yeti.
JAJAJAJA GREAT PRESENTATION!!! Greetings!
You have a nice voice NDV. Which one did you like most for your voice?
I like the most audio-technica which is quite suprising.
you can sing brudda ✊🏽
Your voice is fre🤪aking awesome 😎!
Today ..I bought Rode NT USB + .... it's really amazing
Thanks for hanging out with me…
Pull it down into the diaphram, NDV! Also, you've got some questions down there! They want to know which one you preferred for YOUR voice and why, which is a great question. As a Mezzo-Soprano singer songwriter, I consider multiple different aspects when choosing a Mic as I'm sure you do as well.

I have the blue yeti X and i try to make rap with this mic, do you think i must sell it for a rhode USB ?
Hello sir can tell me best microphone among in list for singing
i have a tiktok where i sing / play ukulele while gaming and i’ve always had the problem with my razer mini of the sound of the uke when i play too loud etc do you have any recommendations on what mic would be the clearest for my voice and uke ? 😊
@sweetwater
Жыл бұрын
Hey, Eloise! Great question. It can depend on the kind of sound you want to get and how everything is set up (close or distant mic, acoustic treatment in the room, etc). If the mic is clipping when you play too loud you might just want to get a mic with more dynamic range/lower sensitivity, but if the uke is just overtaking your vocals it may be more of a mic positioning problem or a frequency response problem. Since there is a lot of nuance to finding the best mic for a particular scenario, feel free to reach out to your Sweetwater Sales Engineer, or myself if you don’t already have a point of contact, and we can get that narrowed down! hm, for me you sounded best with the earthworks USB. But its price is not from this earth. I guess, I stick with my t.bone 420. which is great / good enough.
espectacular
Weird question but why does voices always sound 10x better when singing in an echoey parking garage, bathroom, or hallway and is there any microphone that give that same effect?
@sunnyboner676

Just use reverb on whichever recording software you’re using. Singers often track with reverb as it gives them more confidence in their singing.
Sennheiser and Rode sound alike. I think they're very good.

Sir can u suggest a usb condenser microphone for group singing
@sweetwater
9 ай бұрын
Hey, Shivangi! Great question and thanks for your interest. The best mic for you could depend on many factors such as what sound characteristics you want and the environment you record in. For group vocals, you may want to consider a mic with an omnidirectional pickup pattern such as the Blue Yeti USB: www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/YetiBlk--blue-microphones-yeti-multi-pattern-usb-condenser-microphone-blackout This will make it easier to avoid off-axis discoloration of the vocals. I hope this helps! Feel free to reach out if you have questions. Connor Smith, Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 1793, connor_smith@sweetwater.com

What's up, one question.....I want to buy a gaming microphone, I'm between the fox and the Rode NT-USB Mini, which one do you recommend because it would only be for gaming and if the distance between the microphone and me would affect these two microphones when communicating with my playmates? MANY THANKS
@sweetwater

Hey, Ric. Really, either of those microphones are going to work just fine for gaming. They’re very similar in most of their specs! With that being said, the Rode can handle some higher level volumes, so if you ever get loud for any reason, the Rode would be a solid choice in that case. I hope this helps! is it me i dont know the sennheiser profile just sound more polish and neutral pleasing to listen to and its only a 24bit and 48khz but dang it sound good ,, i dont know the others kinda not polish like they sound good but like noty as polish as the sennheiser (skip to when he scream *via uuuusb* screaming ) youll see what i mean its not harsh as the other ones

Nick was equal distance to all mics, and I couldn't tell a difference through my apple usb-c earbuds.... zero difference.
Rhodes sounded best, most like a natural condenser, with sennhieser close, followed by earthworks and yeti
The Lyra wins. Ive been an audio engineer for about a decade and have used ALOT of usb mics, snd the lyra is just so clean. Edit:I DIDNT FINISH THE VIDEO AND DIDNT REALIZE BLUE IS HERE. Blue wins
Would have been nice if you had sung the exact same distance from each mic. Really surprised you didn't to be honest!
Ur song got stuck in my head ugh……lol you u guys tho
Cool
Which one has more of that godly bassy sound?
Beyerdynamic is no longer available 😢
The music bed was so loud. Couldn’t discern any difference between mics.
Can all be used with android or it is the senheiser only? 😮😮
I couldn’t differentiate the sound at all. I guess the 24 bit + 192khz just because it’s a bigger number.

HZ isn't what determines the sound quality, that's usually the bitrate.

there's almost no benefit in running these mics in their xlr counterparts in 2023 that wasn't true 7 years ago
@bobateaboy04

They sound awful compared to their XLR counterparts what are you even talking about? The NT1 sounds a million times better than the tinny sounding NT usb. the yeti still sounds as bad as a yeti. the only decent one is the sennheiser but the rest sound worse than a budget xlr setup that costs the same as buying one of these mics
They all sounds alike with your setup. I don't get it.
They all sound the exact same. maybe lose the music....? It reminds me of a 90s schoool PSA 😮....
