    For the crotch mobility, there are combat pants which feature gusseted crotch construction where the fabric is profiled to enable wider range of motion along the thigh area without using stretch fabric or having excess baggy fabric. Some examples of such gusseted crotch feature can be found in 5.11 and Helikon-Tex pants. I think you did not show the proper button closure for the pants - what you showed is known as a snap which is simple to fasten/unfasten but difficult to repair if damaged. A button closure (using real buttons and buttonholes) is somewhat slower but is quiet and easy to replace - that is the reason why the military issued pants use buttons and troops have sewing kits. And most reputable brands such as 5.11 and Tru-Spec use brass snap closures which are more durable and wear-resistant than flimsy aluminum or polymer snaps. Hope this helps.

    Yeah, too bad they passed on those. I'm not going to pay $100+ for a pair of pants when I can get milsurp for less than $40. Even if you cant find actual milsurp you can get stuff like tru-spec or rothco, and alot of tactical distributors have their own brands like galls or lapg. I got 3 pair of galls pants for Ems academy for $18 a piece, and they survived kneeling in gravel, crawling across automotive glass, and the only real damage is some oil stains.

    A few weeks back i wanted to buy a combat pants... i was 1 step away from bying a ufpro pants because there really cool. But! One thing people should consider is, do you loose fast weight or gain fast weight? Because then an expansive pants is mayby not yet the good option or do you wanna switch a lot with camo patterns? Then a expansive one is also not a good option.... so i went for helikon tex and i have to say they sit great. Dont know if they will last that long but for now there perfect. The padding around waist belt can collect moisture so it will add on weight!! How many grams would that add. And would that be of an issue, jiz

  • @ReconBrothers

    @ReconBrothers

    3 жыл бұрын

    We're just giving pros and cons, it is for you to decide what is important to you since you are the end user. Remember that it is not just the sweat that gets absorbed by the padding but also rain and water from a river for example if you have to go through that. And even if it is just a few grams the padding itself also adds weight to the pants (UF Pro for example weighs 200 grams more than Crye or Spar-Tac). The point is that if you don't require additional padding, because for example you already have it on your war belt it is just useless weight you are carrying for no reason. And if you don't care for these few grams let's see how much you could actually carry less by using the right equipment that features what you need. Pants: 200g Shirt: 50g-100g Right shoes and socks: 300g-600g (This is just sweat.) Do I need to keep going? This is already between 550g and 900g that you could actually use better by carrying drinkable water. ;) I Instinct

    How does UF Pro stack up to Crye?

  • @ReconBrothers

    @ReconBrothers

    3 жыл бұрын

    The video is made to take on a neutral position to these brands. But here are our findings (shortly explained) on all 4 different pants (Crye G3, UF PRO Striker XT Gen 2, Clawgear Raider MKIV & Spar-Tac Ares). If we would place them in order, we'd say Crye & Spar-Tac on 1, Clawgear on 2 and UF PRO last. Why? Crye is absolute top quality, functionality and comfort, but a pair costs you nearly €400 in the EU these days. We believe that is not worth it anymore. It's really more like a luxery pants nowadays. Spar-Tac is the cheapest of all, but the quality and functionality is absolute top. In some cases, even better than Crye. Comfort is not as a Crye, but it's certainly great even though it only costs €120 for a pair of pants. Clawgear is good, but has many weird and useless design choices. A few are pretty unique and useful though. But we would be amazed that these pants were designed with the input of servicemen. At last UF PRO is probably the most comfortable pant out there, but when it comes to its design it has been waaay overthought. It really has too much whistles and bells that only adds weight (It's like a pants that wants to do good for everyone). To compare, a UF PRO weighs about 1.15 kilograms with kneepads while a Crye or Spar-Tac with kneepads only weighs 950 grams. It also has a far too big profile that can get stuck on anything. And the least interesting to us is that you're actually destroying the knees of the pants when taking a knee. So rather than spending money on some new kneepads, you can get yourself a whole new pair of pants. They all have pros and cons and this is our personal opinion on them, but we'd rather let people make up their mind for themselves after seeing a video like this with an objective approach. I Viper

    One major downside to the Clawgear knee pads is that the internal foam part has 4 solid plastic discs on which the external shell is mounted. This means that when you kneel down you might have your knee rest on top of such a plastic disc which is -very- uncomfortable. I did it once and tossed my Clawgear after that experience.

If they have experience playing airsoft and use the same pants as a navy seal why arent they as qualified to give their opinion on comfort and durability? Experience is experience he isnt telling you how to clear rooms the right way or how to use comms. I was a soldier and find it interesting how people bash airsoft players when they are just having fun.
