Redundancy is my priority so happy with my dual Delta Pro and extra batteries set-up. I like the form factor of the Ultra but the form factor of the Delta Pros could be significantly improved by offering replacement cables for the extra batteries that are slimmer like those used on the Ultra so that the units can hug the wall more closely.

I'm really excited about this product, but let there be no mistake, HVAC systems require a tremendous amount of energy. Leaving the lights, wifi, fridge, fans... that's all great and will get most people through a few days. But if I want to power an 8,000 BTU window unit good for 200 sq ft, at 500watts an hr, it will take two, 6kwh batteries to get me through one day. Which is awesome and amazing, but people should be aware of the true power requirements of HVAC systems.

I’m not exactly sure where you’re figures out for power needs, but 6kWh is not going to get you 2 days where I am, LOL. In my neighbourhood in the winter (when we are most risk for power outage), based on 3 yr historical billing, we are at avg 35kWh a day, and we are just below the average use for similar homes in our area. In summer (July) we have the highest at 41kWh per day, due to home cooling requirements which uses a lot. We need 3 full stacks of the Delta Pro Ultra would only get us to 2-3 days of normal use, and before switching to any reduction planning. My old house was much smaller and a semi-detached (sharing one wall with another house), where I’d avg 19kWh a day in winter, with only me living there at the time. I think these systems are great for very small homes, maybe RV / tiny homes, but not realistic for a real house in Canada. Cheaper options for racks of battery banks with an on demand natural gas generator back up to recharge the batteries for any long term planning. Don’t get me wrong, I like the EcoFlow products, and have just recently (Black Friday) purchased a Delta 2 Max for overlanding / camping.

Hi there, to answer your questions: 1. 160W panels are not rigid panels that can not be installed permanently. If you have two of them, I suggest connecting them in series and use the MC4 - XT60 cable to charge your River 2 Pro. 2. River 2 Pro supports three ways of charging which are AC charging, Type-C, and solar charging. However, it does not support two or more ways of charging happening at the same time. Let me know if you have other questions🙌

So maybe finding a solid rigid panel and connect in series as you suggested would be a more perm fix set up for charging via solar for grid down reasons. I don't see rigid panels on eco web site. maybe another 3rd party would be the way to go?

@@superspeederdepends on the efficiency of your appliances, your home’s insulation, climate/time of year, house size, etc. and one’s definition or needs of back up usage, but I know what you’re saying. I have 14.4kWh of back up (two DP’s & two Xtra DP batteries) connected to my smart home panel and have my discharge/charge limits set to 15%/85%.. refilled daily by 20 rooftop panels between 8am-4pm and powers 10 circuits from 4pm till 8am daily, usually with 10-20% to spare (25-35%).. equivalent to using about 35%-45% of available capacity per day.. but notably running 10/16 total circuits, and not including my heat pump for whole house heating/cooling. If I did lose power during summer and needed cooling, I could use my EF gen 1 A/C for greater DC/DC efficiency, and cool a designated portion of my home, *but* also worth considering that cooling needs would be primarily needed between 8am-4pm when my EF stack receives enough power to offset energy draw whilst replenishing capacity to set maximum charge levels, without using a DC/DC portable A/C unit, though, temps would need to be conservatively set during an outage and the rate of power input/output would need to be monitored/managed via the EF app to ensure sufficient energy is stored prior to sundown (if solely relying on solar as power source). Of course, wind and EF’s dual fuel generator are alternate power source options, as well as bringing units to an EV charging station with the Xtream/J1772 adapter that I have as another means of sourcing power (assuming they’ll have power when I don’t), but scenario aside, 14.4kWh of back up is sufficient for my home’s daily energy usage powering 10 circuits 16 hours/day, 4pm-8am, with an average of 60% of my available capacity remaining before recharging off of roof top solar alone.. which equates to an average usage of 5.8kWh per day, powering essentials and non essentials. Using my own household as an example, I can see how 6kWh could be adequate to power essential appliances during an emergency outage, and could provide repeated back up daily if connected to a sufficiently large solar array during the day, with limited A/C usage if monitored and managed. Conclusion: 6kWh of back up per day is definitely plausible as I achieve this daily (*mainly to offset peak energy usage), even in the winter months, but 6kWh over two days *without* sufficient power input sources (solar, wind, etc to offset peak usage during the day if actively using appliances at home) is really stretching it and requires careful allocation of appliances that are deemed essential (fridge, microwave, lights, etc).. however, with simultaneous input from solar, etc. I can also see how 6kWh of emergency usage is possible over two days for an average sized home. Ideal? No.. but possible. *I used to use just 7.2kW solely to cover my home’s usage from 4pm-9pm, but found that I wanted the flexibility to use more energy daily, for longer durations, with the option to supply emergency power to my EV’s, so I opted to double my capacity to 14.4kWh. (I’ve considered adding two more DP Xtra batt’s for 21.6kWh, but haven’t yet been able to justify the need for more capacity). I also have a EF portable solar panel and DP 1300 for light duty back up/camping use, and feel my needs are currently covered, with the option to use more power if needed. - while 6kWh *may* be sufficient to power essential appliances over a two day period, I personally would double that at some point, so that nonessential appliances can also be used, especially if cycling daily to offset peak usage on grid, or off grid usage is needed. - As mentioned in the video, I think a 7.2/14.4/21.6 DP set up is sufficient for most homes, but larger homes can definitely benefit from EF’s larger DPU.. and nice to have both DP & DPU options to provide a range, from bare minimum back up, to powering just about everything in the home. Everyone’s needs (and budgets) are different. Modular expandability and portability are what make systems like EF, Bluetti, Goal Zero, and others so attractive. Mind you, I also see the benefits of a Tesla PowerWall in terms of capacity per dollar, VPP compensation, integration, and dimensions, but of course lacks portability and scalability in smaller increments. And where EF’s DP & DPU have its advantages - if 6kWh/day isn’t enough.. just add more :)

@@evolv.e agreed, and good work on getting some energy independence! My point above is, most people hear “whole home backup power” and equate that with a Generac running 24/7. Most people are not technical, and if they believe a marketing pitch like this they will be sorely disappointed. Sure you can run an EF Wave and spot cool a small area, but anyone expecting a 6kWh portable battery system to run their central AC is going to get a reality check real quick. EF would be doing themselves a big favor by not over-promising and under-delivering.

EcoFlow are making big claims about the power output of their products without showing any live statistics to support them. These products need to be proofed accurately as in installed in a real home with an above average kilowatt usage. This would give the consumer more confidence with the products as you could actually see how they perform insitu. Despite EcoFlow's build quality it would be hard to win a commercial project based on this type of promotional content. These products are not small and their footprint for installing into certain domestic homes will be limited the competition is fierce in this market so there is still a lot for EcoFlow to do.

If you stack 5 batteries to the inverter, it can make it up to 192km. As for how long it's gonna take, it depends on your car charger.

So If I was to get this system, I would want it to run some short term 240V appliances, but recharge with the 120 V inverter, if possible. If there's a power outage, you have to ask why? If a natural disaster occurs, you want to power the basic technologies that keep you alive. If you live in a big power-guzzling home, you can probably afford the mega systems. If you live in a small property, the smaller devices are going to keep the fridge and freezer running, and support your use of phones and tablets, which in turn keeps you informed about the horror story that maybe unfolding outside. They also allow you to run fans to keep cool. They also power a small electric stove to cook food. The bigger systems are great but that's a huge investment. If you've got the money, go for it (and get as much solar as you can). But if you're on a small budget (like me) the small ecoflow, used sensibly, will keep you alive long enough for help to come.

Anyone spends a few minutes on Google will see that there are a lot of people unhappy with your support. I think this sort of modular unit is a step in the right direction but there needs to be a support tear that people can pay for that provides virtually next day turnaround of the inverter unit should it develop a problem. People are willing to pay if they have that option otherwise it’s far too much of an investment to make for a devicewhere there is no method to seek local support The proper ending to this video would be the warranty and post warranty support from your company on this device.
