Monarch diseases:
When raising a monarch caterpillar it is not uncommon to encounter disease or parasite problems. It is very important to thoroughly clean out all leaf debris and frass and then sanitize cages between caterpillar batches or if you have a disease problem with a 10% -20% bleach solution.     I have a large mesh habitat ( like a mesh laundry hamper with a zipper and with one plastic side. can I turn the whole thing so the plastic side is on the bottom and just transfer the 4 swallowtail caterpillars and the dill plants they are on into the mesh container ?

    Most of the common plastic containers in this video can be found at stores like Walmart. The cage with the green top is probably sold as a ‘critter cage’ or maybe as a cage for tarantulas. That or similar cages can be found at pest stores and Walmart stores that sell pet supplies. Thank you for your question!
