Choosing A Gaming Mouse (Important Questions)

Ойындар

Use my site for recommendations: www.rocketjumpninja.com/find-a...
I've been asked to recommend mice a lot and I find myself repeating the same questions to people, so here's a video explaining what I need to know.
The 5 Questions:
1. What's your hand size?
2. How do you hold the mouse?
3. What games do you play?
4. How competitive are you?
5. What's your budget?
But I no longer have time to answer everyone, so please use the site for recommendations. Thanks!

I really love your reviews unlike the big youtubers who just tell the technical specifications and you on the other hand you really explain each and every detail, how it feels while playing if its comfortable or not.

Hey! I've only recently apprehended the importance of a good mouse in fps after I removed the acceleration from windows and went on a 17 kills streak without having to practice. I was so confused as to what to look for in a mouse since manufacturers seem to highlight the maximum DPI when I know most pro play to a rather low DPI setting. I stumbled across your channel and I immediatly loved it. While you do speak about the specs, you also talk alot about shape, personnal preferences, etc which is imo a lot more useful in the process of choosing a mouse. Also noticed that your more recent videos tend to get more professionnal. Keep up the good work! Now for the questions: 1. What's your hand size? Funnily enough, exactly the same as yours! 2. How do you hold the mouse? Currently I've only been using the palm grip as it is the most natural one but I'm more than willing to experiment with claw and fingertip! 3. What games do you play? I'll probably play Overwatch a lot from next week. I do also play hots. 4. How competitive are you? When I really get into a game, I engage the tryhard mode. However I like to play casually as well when I just want to relax or don't have much time to play. 5. What's your budget? 40-60£ (UK) Currently I have my eyes on the Mionix Castor, the M65 Pro (is the review coming soon? :D) , and the Zowie Ec2-a. That said I am obv open to other suggestions. Also I want to add that I have no idea which grip I migh end up using, since I've not tried yet. Plus I don't know what weight I like since I've only used my MX Revolution (~130 gr). Peace!

+Zakaldri Hey, thanks! Same size hand + FPS + competitive, you can look through my Top 10 and any of those would be good, just depends what you want and at what price you can get them at: www.rocketjumpninja.com/top-20/ Will be reviewing the M65 ASAP, not sure how long it'll take to get delivered though.

Your website is so helpful. You really do need a mouse if you want to play games well with the right size. It's like trying to play in professional player size shoes and wondering why you can't play like them. I returned so many mice because it was too big but your website helps buying mice.

Thank you for your videos, they are very helpful in all aspects. After watching all your videos, I am considering the Steelseries Rival 300 and Rival 700. My current mice is around 115g without the cable, so I am not quite sure whether should I choose the Rival 300 (103g) or the Rival 700 (135g). I think the weight may not be the major issue, but since I haven't tried both mice, I would like to have some advice. Hope you will reply soon, if you do not have spare time, still thank you for your video anyway :) 1) L: 18 W: 9 2) Claw 3) FPS 4) Quite competitive 5) $100-200 AUD

I am as well obsessed with mice as I got really big hands and I had a very hard time searching for a mouse. That is why I made a small list of things that matter. 1. I found that Zowie EC1-A is only wide enough if I hold it a bit more towards the back. That is why I find really important to have an as wide as possible mouse on the grip area (pinky and thumb touching locations.) I really insist that the bigger the better. 2. No matter what your grip style is, unless you are using a grip that holds the mouse closer to a trackball style (deathadder kind of forces you to do that due to the totally too tall high point and totally too long back slope) then you want a mouse that has the tallest point more towards the back of the mouse and the buttons angle with the mousepad to be as high as possible. The shallower the angle of the buttons the more strained your main buttons fingers will be but the more space for ring/pinky will be. A balance needs to be found here between the fact that a mouse needs to be tall enough to allow for a bigger angle of the main buttons without removing all space for pinky/ring finger. The point where the mouse is tallest is best towards the back if you are a palm gripper and you are not using a too low sensitivity that would force you some space to move mouse for looking up/down. If you are a finger tip gripper or claw gripper and you don't like to rest the palm on the back of the mouse then is just important that the back of the mouse is not too long, so that you can pull the mouse into your hand just enough to look down comfortably. So my point here is that is still not a good idea to have a too long back of the mouse (back of the mouse for me is the part after the tallest point on a mouse towards the hand). I put those 3 ideas in 1 point as they are kind of related to eachother. 3. Any mouse that will be used by people that take gaming seriously (competitive) or simply like to play to win, and use a lower mouse sensitivity, needs to be lifted when turning around in the game. Lifting the mouse means that it needs to be easy to grip without slipping off the hand. The grip area where the pinky, ring and thumb touch the mouse needs to be shaped in such way that you are able to lift the mouse easily. Resting the palm/fingers on the mouse should be made somewhere else : for palm grippers should be the back of the mouse up to the tallest point offering the comfort, and fingers should be allowed to lift mouse comfortably. For finger grippers is a bit more complicated as the mouse needs to have both an lower outward angle for resting as well as a top outward angle for lifting. The upper gripping angle if not done correctly will not be good enough for other grip users. However, I really don't understand why every manufacturer is afraid to make correct indentations for ring and pinky and if one does it does it separately for ring and pinky. Well that is wrong. Ring and pinky are meant to be used to lift the mouse, and to have a wide enough area to stay nicely curved around the mouse shape. If the grip area is too narrow it will cause strain. Thumb is always taken as it needs a huge indentation, another huge mistake. I can tell you that the wider the point where the thumb touches the mouse, not only the more comfortable it is, but in the same time the easier reactions will feel and more responsive will be the user. Seriously, how is it possible that companies suck so much at this???

I'm looking for a new mouse as I decided to switch to left-handed mousing, being left-handed, before I get into real competative gaming. I understand that it is difficult for you to custom tailor recomendations for every single person, so I absolutely understand if you don't have the time, but I may as well give it a shot. My hand size is roughly like yours with a length of 18.6cm and a width of 10.5 - 11cm. The mouse I used before was a RAT 7 held in a combination palm/claw grip. I play mostly fps, from Overwatch to Tribes, and I hope to move into competative areas in these type of games. My budget for a mouse that will do me good is pretty much limitless. Putting this aside, I love your videos. It's a style of reviewing I don't see much, focusing on what the specs actually mean from a human and gameplay standpoint rather than just rehearsing the same buzz words on the packaging. It definitely has changed the way I look at gaming peripherals; looking for form and function over bells and whistles. Please continue the great work and have a great day. Cheers!

    1) 19,5cm - 11cm 2) Pretty much clawgrip or palm grip (I'm gold mouse with those "claw fingers", but not as much as you demonstrated it in the video, so i'd definitelly do better with a longer mouse, rather then shorter, for a claw grip). 3) Mainly FPS (I don't say no to MOBAs either, but in mobas i can make do with just about anything that has the 2 thumb buttons) 4) Very competitive 5) quality is more important. (If it wasn't I'd get Rival 100). I was thinking over Deathadder Elite, but I'm kinda sceptic and concerned by it's odd shape and the raised middle. SS Rival 300 is a mouse I see as, possibly a great fit, it's pretty large, has quite a save shape, nothing I'd be worried about, but I've only seen you reviewing the white version, I'd preffer black one, as i had never had a white mouse, i could possibly tempt my focus onto bright color (esspecially on black mousepad). I'e been looking at other revies too, but none really interested me as much as the Rival 300, and I was almost decided to get one, but lately the death adder, which at first didn't interest me at all becouse of it's odd shape, kind of makes me unsure. I'm mostly thinking between those two, but then again, i have no experience with choosing right mouse, i've been playing with 10€ genius "gaming" mice for ethernity, so i would really appreciate a help from somebody with plenty of experience, I'd like to avoid doing mistakes (especially at this price).

First of all, this is a great video and I wish I had seen it before buying my new mouse. 1- 18 cm/9cm 2- Palm grip, but I'm not really sure if there's any other way of holding it 3- Mostly League 4- I like to win and I'm mid diamond 5- doesn't really matter, but I'd go for around $50 I recently got the Rival 300, but I'm not really loving it, as it feels too big for my hand. My middle finger, by the way I hold the mouse, reaches around the scroll wheel and not the edge of the button, so I end up having to put more pressure when clicking, which is making my hand and fingers tired and hurting a bit. I had the Razer Abyssus and I was experiencing some fatigue and thought that a more ergonomic mouse would help, but in this case, it didn't.

18.6cm, I would like to ask for some advice. I am moving onto a new mouse after the G303 due to wear and tear (more like rage and smash) and i have recently bought the Zowie EC2-A and Logitech G403 to try them out. Both have positives and negatives which is making them really hard to split the two. I am a counter-strike player and after doing my research, a lot of professional csgo players are using the EC2-A over the G403, however i'm not sure why because of how good they both are. I really like the Zowie, but the side buttons and scroll is not up to the standards of the G403. I really like the G403, but the build quality doesnt seem as good as the Zowie and the buttons are so light that accidental clicks can be frustrating. What are your opinions on my situation? Do you think you could give me some advice on what mouse I should more or likely choose? (I know you say choose the one that suits you best, but in this case im not entirely sure!) TLDR - G403 or Zowie EC2-A for Counter Strike GO

The Naos is really comfortable and nice for general web browsing, productivity stuff, but is a let down in some of the games ive tried. Its the switches that annoy me. They are way too loud. reminds of mice circa 2002. just has that loud, hollow click. The steel series 300 is really comfortable in a different way, but the switches are nice and quiet. And i can honestly say i have gotten better in overwatch since using it. I just wish the forward thumb button wasnt so far away. its a pain to reach.

    1. Hand size: 18.5 cm 9.5 cm 2. Grip: A mix between palm and claw. (I rest the mouse firmly in my palm , but keep my fingers in a claw grip) 3. Games: CSGO 4. Reasonably competitive. (Currently ranked MGE , but want to achieve LEM) 5. 30-40 (Might be willing to go higher) Current mouse's dimensions is 11 cm length and 5.5 cm width and I wish it had a little more length , the width is perfect. I use my mouse wheel a lot , so a decent mouse wheel would be appreciated. I don't really use any extra buttons on my mice. Alost the G403 is in the running, but that seems to be a bit more round than the other 2 but is only $10 over the Revenger. Plus you complain about it being a bit wide for your hands which are slightly bigger than mine. Currently, I am using the mouse that came with the Devsatator Keyboard by Cooler Master and the small dimensions and flatness have been near perfect. Upgrading because I play MOBAs and my right click switch has gone bad.

The content you make is top notch and what I would prefer as a reference in terms of reliability of information and not just some run off the mill reviewer simply reading the specs or using motherhood statements. Also, if I please could get your recommendation on which mouse I should get, the answers to the 5 Questions are: Note: I am new to FPS gaming 1. Hand Size = 17cm (from tip of index finger to 1cm above wrist) x 8-8.5 cm (fingers close together side by side) 2. Grip = Claw/Palm (still shifting around figuring out what's comfy) 3. Games = Overwatch, CoD 4. Competitiveness = I hate losing xD Willing to put in the work to have a good aim and be a serious competitor but not necessarily be paid for playing (already got a career xD) 5. I have a really long narrow hand 19.5cm X 8cm (fingers are longer than palm). Been using a mionix naos for 6 years but looking to try some other options since I haven't really tried anything else due to liking the naos so much since it's perfect for palm grip(my preferred grip). I play mostly fps but also a lot of dota and am very competitive on all games. Price doesn't matter. only other "gaming mice i've tried were the razed lachesis, which i liked but not enough room for pinky on the side so it just had to be on the pad, also tried the deathadder and really don't like the shape, not sure why but it just feels super awkward to me. any suggestions?

    1. 19cm x 10.25cm 2. Fingertip 3. FPS 4. Pro (wannabe) 5. Budget till $100 Right now I'm with a G403 but I can't get comfortable with the grip, I don't know if it's because my hands are too wide or it's just the shape of the mouse that's not symmetric. It's hard to lift it up, the edges are not so tilted inward and my hands sweat easy and makes the rubber slippery. When I fingertip the mouse I see myself going to the back of the mouse and trying to put my index finger really far up, almost to the end of the front buttons, closer to where the optical sensor should be. I didn't know how to get a recommendation from you so I comments in this older video that i saw other people asking for recommendations too. Thanks for you time.

My hands are 18 , 18.5 x roughly 9 . I claw use a hybrid fingertip - claw grip where my finger root bones are resting on the middle hump of the mouse. Should i get the Zowie FK 2 ? I really like the mouse but im a bit concerned about the fk2 being too flat and not having any hump to rest my finger root bones . Also i dont care about the price and im a highly competitive csgo player.

    1. 16 cm long, 8 cm wide 2. Palm grip 3. FPS's are what I mainly play, but I'd also browse google alot so it'd be great if its designed for that 4. I mess around, but also take games seriously at times, so something that is both comfortable and precise would be nice 5. I don't necessarily have a budget, I want to see all my options before I decide my best option I also don't care about flashy lights, but 2 extra buttons you can bind to other things would be nice for some games I know you're extremely busy so if no one responds this is fine, keep the content up man I'm lucky I stumbled onto you
