    Owen Wilson killed in this. This dialogue was so well written. He just needed to get this out of his chest, he didn't care with who. That's why he told that to Loki. And in the end it shaped our boy's decision. 10/10

    Ultimately this conversation is entirely about free will and living with the consequences that come with it. When Loki brushes aside the timekeeper dogma, he outright asks Mobius himself. "How do *you* choose?" It's not the timekeepers doing the pruning. The hunters are the ones who do. They can use the timekeepers as a scapegoat all they want but at the end of the day, the hunters are the ones going out into the field and making those choices. And Mobius responds with another simple answer: If he doesn't, more people get hurt. There is no comfort, there is no healing. Scar tissue. Mobius has to live with the psychological trauma - his burden. That's what it means to have free will. It means to live with the consequences of your actions, good or bad, and it's ultimately what Loki sacrifices himself for. As the god of mischief. Of chaos. And finally, time itself.

  • @AgentExeider

    @AgentExeider

    And that is the lesson the show implies heavily but never outright comes out and says. Like when He Who Remains says "I make the hard choices, so I get the big chair." seemingly flippant. But when he talks about why he wanted to leave the job, and S1 Loki says "Why? you have all that power, all that freedom?" And that was the point I remember talking to my TV saying. No,Loki, he isn't free, in fact he is the most imprisoned. Because the job. Someone MUST ALWAYS be there to do the job. It MUST BE OCCUPIED, For all time...Always. WIthout fail, or fault. Like the Flying Dutchman from POTC, It must ALWAYS have a captain. The same thing here, it can never be without someone for any moment, any length of time. For that's all that is needed to make everything undone. This is why the TVA's motto is: "For all time, always." It's not a promise of dedication, its a warning of what will happen if they don't.

    @@dragodraco7511 and instead of carrying the burden of destroying so many timelines, he carries the burden of all the infinite atrocities and injustices that happen on them, tying back into Mobius's words. Is it better than obliteration? In most cases, yes. Still, when there's a universe where the Snap is never reversed, or like the Infinity Ultron one from What If..., or any universe slowly dying to an incursion - all that suffering is still Loki's burden now. Even if its a better outcome than pruning, it still hurts.

    Pink Floyd’s album art is itself based on the art of the painter Giorgio de Chirico, who was fascinated with how handshakes have the ambiguity of a greeting & also a goodbye (likewise sunrises & sunsets). Chirico’s art went on to greatly influence the European Surrealists, including famously Salvador Dalí.

    You see, if a society don't want carry any burden, it will turn out to be a heartless , selfish society, only focus on your need and desire, not other. If we want to be a kind person among the society like we help people who need, we cheer people up who under depress, we already carry PART of their burden. We no need to carry full burden of other unless you are his parent or his life partner. We just do our part so that other people will be blessed.

    ❤i love how Mobius is always so compassionate and respectful. He refers to Loki as "Loki" or "friend" instead of "the variant" or "cosmic mistake." Frigga calls Loki by name but Odin said "the prisoner." Hearing the story of the 8 yr old boy reminds me of Mobius' real life with his sons. And then he's kind of like a father figure to Loki. Reminded him of them in a way. Super sweet😊

    My theory is TVA Mobuis was going to prune one of his variant son (the boy swimming with his bother). Mobuis loves to jet ski at the lake😢😢😢 Loki heard this story and gave his friend TVA Mobuis "a" happy ending, watching his variant with his sons 😢😢😢 And loki probably relived rewind this conversation with Mobuis a hundred times before he was ready to let go. Mobuis is Loki's only real true friend who ever really really cared for him😢 Growing up thor and his band of merrymen bullied him, which explained why loki is so messed up in his head. Then a stranger like Mobuis becomes loki's "brother" and best friend.

    Maybe timekeepers should do their own dirty laundry instead of saddling hunters with scar tissue?. Scar tissue doesn't develop unless an injury occurs. These hunters are doing a job they were never meant to do, being burdened by injury, precisely because the timekeepers were too weak to take on the burden. Like when a parent has a kid but expects the child to care for them rather than they caring for the child. Think about it.
