    "Dead blow" refers to the shot fill for better energy transfer/lower bounce. This feature can be implemented in different hammer styles including soft-face and ball-peen, both of which you have examples here.

    I bought all six and theyre totally perfect. The reason your dead blow ball peen hammer is called that is because it contains the shot inside of it. I call the 32oz Big Kahuna because its a beast. Nothing has beaten it.

    I might grab the standard ball peen. i grabbed the other two styles from HF during a sale on Icon items. In some applications , you want a hard face but without the tendency to bounce.

    I encourage anyone seeing this video to instead buy a Trusty-Cook brand deadblow hammer Trusty Cook is made in the United States, Indiana specifically. I had hoped the Milwaukee was contracting with them, but Googling the model numbers and country of origin, resulted in Taiwan. And the Trusty Cook is priced in line with the Milwaukee. As to the ball peen, consider a Vaughan .

    I have all 3. The Trusty Cook hammers are great… but the handle is so long it makes swinging in tight spaces difficult. On the Vaughn’s I agree completely. I have tons of them in different sizes for metal fabrication. Both of those are inexpensive and great hammers (Brands). That said, I bought the Milwaukee 32oz dead low ball peen hammer yesterday…and I love it. Every part of it. Handle length, feel in the hand everything. Quickly became my favorite hammer.

    I’m not 100% certain, but I’ve heard that Tekton’s dead blows are made by TC. That could be a great way to get painless warranty service while still getting USA made hammers.

    Another use for dead blow hammes is cast iron. A metal hammer head will crack/shatter cast iron.

    As an industrial maintenance technician those ball peen hammers suck I want a wood handle for anti-vibration but more importantly it won't damage what you're working on, if you miss

    The ball peen dead blow hammers are just trying to simulate the great Snap On one's? I'm not understanding what the point is, no pun intended? The dead blows that have a one piece design, was never a fan of that? Love my older Craftsman USA dead blow hammer, has softer rubber faces covering the whole striking area, instead of just one hard piece of plastic?

    Why buy Chinese crap when you can buy American made hammers for less and better quality, like trusty crook . Or even better Mac or Snap On

  • @Modine.

    @Modine.

    Because Mac and Snap-on are probably made in some Asian countries too and three times the price.
