Thanks for the tips and the good vibe, was looking for a large explanation about this.
I'm more of a skateboarder and over 10 years ago I've also experimented with harder and softer wheels with very positive results! Depending where you put the wheel it will start to feel alot faster and have a longer lasting glide. This could really help commuter skaters who use it for transportation as you won't need to push so much. But the process to figure out where each of the wheels belongs can take a lot of time and patience and also a skate tool. It's like a rubix cube. It also I've found usually takes at least a dozen or two changes of individual wheels and taking short test rides between each change to see if there is any difference in speed. And usually there will be slight increments of speed per change. But here is the catch. You shouldn't give up! You need to have persistence, determination and patience. And somewhere around the 2 hour mark you might get what I call "hitting the jackpot" because you will start to go significantly faster than when you started! The key is to bring a bag of different durometer wheels. The brands, colors or shapes don't matter so long as they're all the same size. Like all 60 mm, or all 55 or all 65's or even all 70 mm. But you'll need riser pads under the trucks to prevent wheel bite.
Awesome video! Love your delivery style, light fun and entertaining whilst giving all the top notch info! Lets roll!!
Love the info very well informative I listened to the whole thing threw you earned a new subscriber thank you ❤
This is such a good video with EVERYTHING new skaters need to know about wheels! Excellent!
Nice video...straight to the point 👍👍
Good job you made that very simple to understand keep up the good work
Thanks for enlightening me!
I encourage all skaters to try mixing wheels. I think you will be stoked when you go faster than ever. See what happens. You have nothing to lose except not roll slow anymore. Another key tip is that this only works with wheels on the softer end of the durometer or hardness scale. Specifically 78A to 88A. OJs , Kryptonics, or many other cruiser wheel brands works great. But usually not the hard 95a to 101a skate park ones. Maybe you have buckets of slightly used cruiser wheels that you gave up on months or years ago and they're just sitting in the closet or garage storage. Well now you have a chance to give them new life? The abec of the bearings don't matter either. The bearings have little effect on the increase of speed as the wheels themselves. It's like you need to become like the dog whisperer but instead more like "a skate wheel whisperer." You need to let the skateboard tell you where each wheel belongs. Preferably all 4 wheels should be different. All same size but different durometers and brands. That way there's maximum effect. Good luck and happy skating! Aloha Uncle John
Very funny yet informative video!
OMG, informative, but hilarrious too, subbed!!!
This was so helpful!
Excellent video!

So glad you think so!
Great video. I would ask you what you think about Rio Roller Mayhem II for adults as I bought them and I am beginner. Thanks
My like made it officially 1k likes great video btw.
Oh!!! So that's why I see pairs of skates being sold with a combination of softer and harder wheels, gotcha ! They also sell them with four wheels one size and the other four a different size, do you know what's that for? 🤔 Anyway, thank you for making me a more informed skater 💕 Great video!
I used to use sims snakes wheels when i was younger. Loved how smooth they were. Do you know of any wheels that are simular?
Funny... Nice presentation.
I heard the Fundae wheels are around 90A durometer. As a beginner at park skating (and a lightweight), would that be a good choice for reasonable speed and more control? Right now I use 85A derby wheels, which are pretty flat shape :/
Youre nuts 😂 I love you ❤😂
What do you recommend for jam skating? I'm about 120lbs
Nice informative and funny video :D I could sent it to 10 people but since i am the only one skating they would ask "why you sent me that video" :D
Yoooo r u really that funny in real life 😂

Are you wearing outdoor or indoor skates? Size? Durometer?
I'm 6'4" and like a 52 or 57mm wheel because I'm so tall and enjoys the extra stability. I must say I do like the speed of the 59 and 62mm wheels but they feel like it's easier for me to fall backwards when riding on them.
I realize this is an older video but I’m going to try my luck at a response anyway. When I was a teen I went skating every weekend. I bought my own skates but my friend told me the wheels were crap so he gave me a set he wasn’t using. They were on the smaller side and white. I used them and never had any issues. Fast forward 30 years and I am now taking my kids skating and getting back into it. I’m going to get myself a set of skates as I don’t have the ones I had as a teen. After some research I believe the white wheels I had as a teen were sure-grip all American plus. I remember my friend making a big deal about them being made of vanathane. I’m currently looking at some rollerbones nitro 97a. If I was on the all Americans as a teen would these nitro’s feel too soft to me? The rental skates I have been using seem too soft and make me work too hard. It seems that the all Americans rate around 101a is there that much difference between a 97a and a 101a? Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
what wheels r good for outdoors on the street if I want to do powerslides but still have enough grip cruising?

it also depends on the conditions of the road, but we find hybrids like fundaes are good for that. but really its hard to have your cake and eat it too.

Still I’m not sure why the soft wheels are always 78-78 what? Does it have to do with RPMs?

The durometer (78A to 103A) is the hardness of the plastic material.
Is it lower center of gravity or lower center of mass?
I like you
What a cutie!
I learned so much I didn't know!
Skateboarders have always been ones who break the rules are creative innovative and trend setters. Why then do we for 5 decades stick to the unwritten rule that "you have to only use all of the 4 same wheels that you buy in a set" that you buy from a skate shop or online store. Maybe they want you to keep spending your money on wheelset after wheelset that doesn't go too fast or not quite as fast as you could be going. Maybe a DIY custom set up could be just the trick. More skaters should think outside of the box, and break the molds. l believe for a fact that this could change the face of all roller sports that uses urethane wheels! I've proven it to myself over and over for 10 years! I'm just waiting for the rest of the world to try it and be convinced also! or over 10 years

Can you describe your setup? I'm a new quad roller skater but I am curious about getting the best experience from my skates.
What are you smoking…,😂 The size doesn’t determine if it’s good for outdoors. It’s the material it’s made from 🤦🏽♀️

it depends on whose asking...are you the feds?! As far as the video goes, we talked about the size and how it impacts performance on different surfaces. what made you think differently?

Oh really? So a 30x55mm wheel would have the same outdoor experience as wheels sized 42x70? Even when going over cracks and sticks?

It real does if you have small ass wheels and you go over stuff thats very bumpy its not gonna be fun
