Choose the right infill EVERYTIME!

Thanks for watching - subscribe to help us 3D print a car!
Choosing the right infill is more important than you think... strength of print, flexibility, or even looks for timelapses..
Thanks to Bambu Studio I can check before each print exactly what infill i want to use..
We used ‪@SUNLU‬ PLA+ Purple for our infill tiles 😍
We love 3D printing to solve our everyday problems... if you've got any that 3d printing could solve, let us know in the comments....

how did printing black rectangles help you decide which infill you needed to use? Surely you should use a benchmark model that has a bunch of different aspects to it that you can test with each inflil. So a vertical flat surface, a horizontal flat surface, a sloped 45 degree surface, a domed surface to test surface finish quality. a section for a captive nut, a section of bridging, a section for testing rigidity in different dimensions.

After learning the smallest amount of composite design: A good chunk of the forces on the(composite) part go through the skin and having a 10mm thick carbon part is expensive and heavier than having a core material instead. The core mostly gets compressive/tension forces. Looking at 3d printing and some of the prints ive broken through the years (also bending unfinished prints) shows that the forces do seem be put through the wall and those tension/compression forces on the infill. Having an infill pattern with the best compressive strength per weight with decent adhesion to the walls seems to be best for me so far. + Im kinda leaning toward the thought that infill is, in most applications, pretty much just internal support structures.

Gyroid for example produces lots of gcode due to constant change of direction. Since im printing functional parts, stability is key, and more exotic infills like support qubic are not used by me.
