People’s Artiste Kim Kwang Suk died on January 14, 2018 at the age of 55
The name of the ensemble refers to the Battle of Pochonbo County in northern Korea, which occurred on June 4, 1937 (Juche 26) during the anti-Japanese armed struggle, when Korean and Chinese guerrillas commanded by Kim Il Sung attacked and defeated a detachment of the Japanese invaders.

Kim Kwang-suk is so lovely! Definitely one of my favourite Pochonbo Electronic Ensemble singers, if not my favourite. But I also loved Hwang Un-mi's Unhasu Orchestra version even more...

@@PhuongDPRKDaily Ah, that is correct, for instance, the line translated here as "I can see the hill of Communism" is different in the Hwang Un-mi version where "Socialism" (사회주의) is instead referenced in a different context.

Yes, and instead of a seven-year plan, you can hear five-year plan in the Unhasu version. This song dates from 1960, at that time there was still the seven-year plan and it was still believed that communism could be achieved earlier. But Kim Jong Il's thorough analysis of modern imperialism made it clear that communism is impossible as long as imperialism rules the world. For this reason, the term communism was removed from the constitution in 2009, where it was defined as a goal to be achieved soon.

@@RyuJinafan I can't re-find it at the moment, but I'll try it again. If I don't find it anymore, I would have to cut it out of the full length concert recording and subtitle it again. That may take some time, but I will definitely re-upload, because I like it a lot, too
I feel pretty upset she died. She was the reason I love this song. Her song makes me just want to hear it over and over again. She putted a lot of effort in her life. May she rest in peace
