QUICK TIPS: when you’re making this make sure to add a tiny bit less cocoa, and a bit more sugar. (Take 1/2 a tbsp out of the cocoa, add 1/2 a tbsp of sugar) because when I made this it tasted very bland and bitter, so I would recommend doing this too. Oh, and also for the people who are saying that they don’t have Nutella or baking powder, self-rising flour would work too. And for the people without Nutella, I just added a bit more cocoa and sugar to make up for the lack of flavour. It worked perfectly fine. And you could probably add a bit of chocolate chips in the middle because the heat of the microwave would melt the chocolate chips, kinda like a Nutella flavour. As for the people without a microwave, sorry but I can’t help :(

This irecipe started my baking journey around 2-3years ago and this recipe has NEVER failed me. I have just made this mug cake again a few minutes ago and inout it in the microwave for 1 min and it was fully baked and I already ate half the cake. It is sooo good and I never like my own bakes but this recipe is a game changer you have to try this!

Ok guys, after reading the comments of people who have tried this, and trying it myself a couple times now, I think I found a recipe that solves the dry issue and comes out a bit richer in taste; All Purpose flour - 2 tbsp White sugar - 1½ tbsp Cocoa powder - ½ tbsp Baking Powder - ¼ tsp Oil - 1 tbsp Milk - 3 tbsp Nutella - 1 tbsp I actually like to mix in the Nutella for a richer taste, rather than having just the one dollop in there, so I warm up the tablespoon of Nutella separately prior to mixing it in to make it easier to combine. I also increased the time in the microwave to 1:15. Thanks so much for this video!! I'm obsessed with this mug cake!!

Honestly, I’ve tried many mug cake recipes over the years and this is the best recipe out of all of them. It’s just so fricking amazing like the cake is kinda spongie in a way and it’s really moist even though it’s just made in the microwave. I like to bake mine for 30 more seconds just to make sure it’s done and then put some pieces of chocolate on top as soon as it’s out so the chocolate melts on top. Everyone I know absolutely loves this recipe and I call it the “Triple Chocolate Lava Cake”. It’s also so easy to make and remember the recipe and just tastes like pure delicious bliss. Thank you for making this amazing recipe.

My cake batter turned out like melted ice cream I heated it up and it still tasted really good

good recipe here are some things to make it a bit better in my opinion: -put 4 tbls of milk usually it’ll work better -the taste is a bit bland so try putting a bit more sugar in it -try putting vanilla sugar in it aswell to give a little more taste -Even a small pinch of salt will give more taste

I've made this mug cake so many times already. It tastes so so good! I switched out the cocoa powder with ovo maltine powder (since that's the only thing I had at home) and it worked perfectly fine too :)

My favorite chocolate mug cake recipe yet! I added some ice cream to it and it’s super good, not too sweet or too bitter. If you don’t add ice cream, I’d recommend adding more Nutella or sugar if you have a big sweet tooth. Otherwise, it’s perfect. And tips for cleaning the mug, fill it with warm water and scrubs the sides with a sponge without emptying the water.

Alright so I actually tried it. Here are my thoughts: It’s rlly good, takes little time and actually tastes nice, not just decent. I would say, if you’re a little extra like me, to add a bit more Nutella and milk, but everything else was great. I used melted butter instead of oil once and I couldn’t see a difference. Don’t worry if the mixture isn’t as smooth as the video, mine wasn’t either. One last thing, I used self raising flower and it rose just fine so you could deffo try that. Please do try it😘 I had it with whipped cream it was heaven 😫😫

Alright guys, if you don't have cocoa powder you probably have hot chocolate powder. Use that, it worked for me. Edit: You can also use melted chocolate instead of nutella

It is pretty much the same. Cocao powder is have just more cacao, so it's darker and bitter

@@Sirdiggar depends on the company, I guess. Here in Germany, we have a really sweet and chocolatey "Hot Chocolate" Powder (In Germany it is also called Cacao powder, cause Cacao is chocolate milk drink, here) It just tased perfect, and should fit well in such a mug cake :)

Will it work with baking soda instead of baking powder?

I’ve tried different recipes that have come out dry as heck or not quite tasty. This recipe is my savior 🤍 super good y’all

This is the best microwave cake i’ve ever tried! It doesn’t look like a sponge when it comes out nor tastes weird, i would recommend adding one or more TBSP of sugar if you like it sweet but other than that it’s PERFECT😍

My thoughts on this: I've been using this recipe for the past 6 months now. It's honestly so amazing! It is a bit small but filling so it's the perfect late night snack. I can't even describe how amazing it's taste is. Highly recommend :)

My thoughts on this: When I tasted it it was AMAZING. I thought it wouldn’t work, but you really have to mix thoroughly because I didn’t mix mine properly at the bottom so some of it at the bottom wasn’t that cooked.

Same. Every single cake recipe, the bottom is not cooked. No matter if it's 30 seconds more, it's still all powdery at the bottom.

@@wardafaizan4659 yes. you can use plain cooking oil im sure, just dont use any olive oil or anything like that. also u can use cake flour or all purpose flour or just any flour u want.

If you have any chocolate in the house whatsoever it can work too. In fact you don’t even need to put anything there

Just discovered this recipe, tried it 5 minutes later and it's sooo good, i tried a lot of chocolate mug cake recipes before but this one is just so much better for some reason (nutella maybe ? lol), thank you so much ~

This is the first mug cake recipe that actually tasted like cake to me and not just rubber. Really great!! The cocoa powder I used was too bitter though I think but the sweetness of the Nutella balanced it out. 10/10 I’m saving this recipe to make again sometime
