I'm of the opinion that if you want to be a good human parent, you need to start with a pet. Pets teach you pure unconditional and unselfish love. And they bring out the best in us.

They bring out the worst too but it does a hell of a lot to teach you patience and to reign in your temper. One thing about children is they don't have a phase where they want to find and shred all of your clothes so at least they have that going for them.

You can truly see how happy those dogs are. How awesome, good for you pet mommy. I wish everyone treated pets this way. I hate seeing neglect cases. My sister in law works for a clinic and it's so sad to see the neglected animals they bring in regularly. How could you mistreat a life like that. They count on us when they are domesticated and shame on anyone who neglects or abuses animals.
