The Cho House Family's contribution for Tourism and love for the land should be appreciated by all travellers who plan a trip to the Southern Indus Valley of Ladakh, try to stay here for a night or two and experience the country style hospitality. Liked the garden, the greenhouse and the clean and neat well decorated interiors. Food looks attractive. The young lady has spoken well. She looks well educated and highly sophisticated. No wonder she is daughter of a retired teacher! It is a great gesture from Dheeraj and Devil on Wheels team having showcased this awesome place in and out. Thank you.

I need clarifications regarding booking and pricing. 1. @deachenful has mentioned that it is 1.5K per person including breakfast and dinner. Make My Trip booking suggests 6.3K for two persons in one room. Which is valid? 2. Booking availability on Make My Trip shows dates from March 15-31 2024. Before that it says fully booked and after, it says you missed it! What could be the reason?

Thank you so much sir for such a detailed comment and yes the Cho House family is coming back from the Royal family of Ladakh region so they all carry the sophistication with them. I believe this will be a place where people can find different experiences in Ladakh other than regular Ladakh circuit and sightseeing. Staying here elevates the overall experience surely

Regarding doubts on booking and prices… the right pricing is around 1500 per person including dinner and breakfast and since MMT is an OTA am sure they must be going through multiple hoops and their own availability calendar.. I will recommend getting in touch with Dechan directly for availability and updated pricing always.. availability wise I think it should be available all seasons as it is their home and they should continue to host throughout the year.. but I will ask Dechan to reply here too

@@discoverwithdheeraj thanks Dheeraj. If everything goes as planned, during my next visit to Ladakh in the first or second week of June I may stay for one night in Cho House to experience the awesome hospitality and spend a good time in their garden, watch them cooking if they permit me, visit the twin villages and study the culture. My plan is to start from my home town on May 25 by train to Delhi-Kalka-Shimla, cover the Kinnaur Spiti Circuit by June first week, reach Manali and spend two or three days visiting Rohtang Pass, Sissu and Shinku La if sight seeing options are open, then travel by the HRTC or HPTDC bus from Keylong/Manali to Leh if the bus services start by then, spend two days in Leh, then go from Leh to Tso Moriri, after a night's stay at the lake, return to Manali via Pang. I don't know if I will be having sufficient days to visit Hanle, because I may need more than 10 days to complete the Kinnaur Spiti circuit and reach Manali via Rampur or Shimla, if the Kaza-Manali road remains closed in June first week. Don't know if two of my friends who are interested as of now stick to the plan, or drop off at the last moment. If we are three, we could hire a full cab and visit Teri village on the way to Tso Moriri and stay at Cho House for a night. If I travel by a shared taxi, the itinerary may change and I have to stick to the taxi guy's plan. Personally I am obsessed with the place now after watching your videos! 😄 Let's hope for the best.

I just saw a story on Instagram from Dechan that they are closed in wintertime and will reopen in springtime now. It will be wonderful to visit Cho House and Teri Twin villages and as per your plan since you will spend a couple of nights, you will thoroughly enjoy soaking up there. I am sure it will be an experience in itself. Most likely early buses will not be functional sir. So you need to rely on other shared transport like shared taxis or tempos run by travel agents. Also, Shinkula on public transport will not be possible and you will need a private vehicle to visit it. I hope your friends do not back out as visiting these places is much better on private mode of transport than public one.
