Hey Joe, with the double switch is it okay if I just switch it only one time instead of twice to get the answer?

Hey Jonathan! Short answer: NO, you have to switch twice. Single switches actually invert your stereochem (I encourage you to switch two groups & assign stereochem in both scenarios--you'll opposite stereochem in terms of R and S). But, since a single switch inverts stereochem, two switches cause you to first invert and then recover the original stereochemistry, the whole goal being to rearrange groups for whatever you need to do (e.g. getting your lowest priority group on a dash).
