This seems more PC then most ads you see on TV. But I guess if the banana looks feminine and bananas look phallic that could make a BuzzFeed journalist think its objectivication. Or the fact that the male bananas are smaller than the female banana could be some bad feminist movement so nobody wins here.

But I learned recently, that to retard ripening too soon, one should put them in the frig. This works. I had a bunch of 5 bananas in the frig, but forgot about them. After 2 weeks, the skin turned brown, but they were still firm, just like being perfectly ripe..

Chiquita means little banana in reference to you know a male member or part notice at the end of the video the banana closes or blinks its eye a banana with an i at the end of it I'm just saying subliminal messaging at all I mean just look at it I'm not crazy seriously and they make the banana sexy because it sells into your subliminal mind like a ship

Chiquita does not mean "little banana"; it is simply an adjective meaning "little". As a noun it means a little girl.

    1. Bananas taste better when they're not fully ripe. When they're fully ripe, they're disgustingly mushy and overly sweet. 2. Older generations do NOT get to talk smack about us sexualizing everything when _they_ made a waifu out of a FUCKING BANANA.

Great cartoon, lots of fun. But look up the United Fruit Company's history of manipulation and domination of Guatemala and other Latin American countries. It's not pretty. Or read Vargas Llosa's historical novel Harsh Times, which deals with the events of 1953 or so - the CIA-supported overthrow of a democratically-elected President of Guatemala (Arbenz, who promoted land reform for the sake of the indigenous, dirt-poor peasants, and who had the impudence to ask that United Fruit pay taxes), with the aid of the Dominican dictator Trujillo - I've just gotten started with the perfidy of what we Yankees and our local flunkies did...all part of a long US tradition of hypocrisy where democracy in Latin America was concerned. The Dulles brothers, Allen and John Foster, were on the board of directors of the United Fruit Company - you heard me right - a conflict of interest that surpasses even that of Justice Clarence Thomas nowadays. All so that United Fruit could sell bananas to us gringos.

The thing about not putting them in the refrigerator was a way to sell more bananas? They were new and folks didn't know...Notice in the grocery store they are stored cold before they are put out for sale, because they are cold just before they are out displayed in the store. So, do indeed store in the 'frig when brought home from the store. If not, they will ripen quickly and then that's where 'banana bread' comes from.
