Even the teaser beat is killer.

Much more of an 80s feel to it by now.

CHIPs Finale (1983)

You’d think Erik & his costars got were best friends, but looks can be deceiving.

It wasn't just the cast leaving - Wilcox over the favoritism of Estrada. There was trouble surrounding Tom Reilly and they brought in Bruce Penhall to take more of the second role. You can see his credit kind of inserted there with the different colored font.

I always get a kick out of watching Erik Estrada shaking his groove thing and busting a move (0:54-0:55) while laughing hysterically!

Disco was already out, the mtv era was here yet the theme continued

Not the same without Larry Wilcox

Season 6 sucked so bad without Larry Wilcox the shows ratings went lower than when the first season started. It just wasn't the same without Ponch and Jon together. But Larry wasn't the only one who left after season 5. Most of the cast did. Bonnie was gone, Michael Dorn who went on to play Worf in TNG left, and Brodie Greer who played Barry Baricza also left. There were also some others and stage hands who left. The show wasn't the same.

When will it be at last possible to watch the full episode Fun House (s.6 ep.19) with the deeply missed and regretted Carol Anne Freeling (RIP) ?

I love Chips it was of my favourite shows but sixth and final season however was never the same when Larry Wilson quit the show and just Larry Randi 9akes quit and and acouple of more quit the show aswell it just waseernt the same for me

I hope you all will reply to this did you all know that Clarence Gilyard Jr. was on this show before he played Conrad McMasters on Matlock??? he was on this show in season 6 the last season..... Once again I hope you all will reply to this

He was also in Die Hard (he played Theo, the computer specialist working for Hans).

I can’t remember what the rumor mill was on Tom Reilly. Either Erik Estrada didn’t like him or NBC didn’t like him or the fans didn’t like him. I sorta watched the show but it wasn’t appointment tv for me. I always thought the highway scenes were so fake. Cars were 5 miles from each other. Too funny!

Robert Pine said the show was doomed to fail after four main characters left. It wasn't the same CHiPs and it showed in the ratings.

This looks like a live action episode of an Erik Estrada cartoon. Its CHiPs...but not really.

It wasn't nearly as good as seasons 2-5. So many great characters gone - Sindy Cahill, Barry Baricza, Bonnie Clark, Jon and others. Kathy Linahan was a good season 6 addition but not nearly enough to carry the show.
