Agreed. Commercial success is great but is irrelevant in a KOG conversation. This is why it irritates me when Stormzy and the general media use the KOG label. If you aren’t willing to show up and compete then it’s not grime in the true sense regardless of bpm.

@@deadcatjordan it's obvious the record label lean heavy on the media for positive coverage of their cash-cow.

Stormzy is a thief. He came alone just as grime was blowing up, stole a load of old ruff squad instrumentals and got big off the hype. He took the best of old grime and portrayed it as new and his own. Only reason he is where he is. Also probably has something to do with the fact he’s a melt and will never use his massive platform to go against the status quo like a real grime artist. Like Wiley does again and again.

Stormzy can't response because he's the poster boy. Hmmmmm but can still make money incriminating himself on a track about turning up at chips home with roadmen. More gangster rapper..

I completely agree. He’s an all round general artist. But he often uses the word ‘grime’ and says he’s the COG, which I find annoying.

@@deadcatjordan no thats the only way, grime is made of 4 parts. 1.Clashing 2.Dubs 3.Sets 4. Tunes. Stormzy can make all the tunes he wants, but as he aint on dubs, clashing or sets he cant be King.

Who cares, Stormzy is cute and tall. Stormzy's song sound better.
