@@whenisdinner2137 How so? It’s good quality and seems very cool, just because it’s Chinese doesn’t mean it’s “bad” weirdo.
You know, politics of China aside this actually looks like a pretty solid brand, some new or tweaked ideas, reviving old rides, good clones, and while I don't know the specifics of their safety the rides at least look well built. If there's some big shift in how things operate in China and they can fully get away from the government there I wouldn't mind this company doing well and possibly having an international expansion. (Or at least a bigger one if they have a little bit already within Asia)
@chdreturns

Agreed. I'd love to see Nanfang's creations make their way outside Asia. Really cool flat rides.
Sounds like if they can maintain US safety standards, this company is as legit as any other flat ride company.

That's some astonishing optimism to think they'll "maintain US safety standards." This is the same country that looked at worker suicides via jumping from the roof and decided the best way to deal with it was to install nets around the factory buildings to catch them when they jump. Instead of, you know, treating the workers better or providing counseling/therapy. "As cheaply as possible" is the order of the day. It's just how they do things. This isn't meant as a dig against the Chinese -- just an honest assessment. Eschewing extra safety features in favor of cheaper construction costs and trusting people to be smart enough to avoid danger and perform adequate maintenance is a conscious choice they've made as a culture, and it seems to work for them. Hard to argue with results.

I LOVE that weird balloon ride at 7:40! It's a great family ride that would work really well in a strange place... Like an american casino or something.

You hit it right on the nose with the Casino idea! The Rio casino in Las Vegas had a ride exactly like that one except with parade floats instead of balloons. Unfortunately it was removed in 2013 when the Rio started losing popularity, but there's some cool videos still online! I was just there a few weeks ago and all the tracks are still visible on the ceiling.
Even though they have a few knock off flat rides, I'm pretty impressed. This seems like a dedicated, innovative company whose rides are pretty interesting to learn about.

Yes! GP2E is back with another video about chinese knockoff rides. I like that Nanfang is bringing back old classic flat rides like the Trabant and creating interesting concepts like the sight seeing hot air balloon (Which I'd like to see come to North America).
The music is a great new touch to the video!

It's interesting that a company that does copycat rides also seems to do a lot of their own innovation. Some Chinese knockoff products are insanely derivative and very dangerous but this company shows the other side of loosening intellectual property laws. Thanks for highlighting the human rights situation in Xinjiang. The scariest thing about the camps there is how permanent they look. On the one hand, they're less visually disturbing than American child migrant detention cages, but they also represent a firm ideological commitment to completely eradicating the ethnic identity of Uyghur Muslims for the long term and on a gargantuan scale in a way that is at best a cultural genocide.

By "long gone" he meant that they're no longer being produced.
As far as Chinese knock off rides go nanfang do seem to be one of the best. I could see them one day breaking into the global market as a flat ride manufacturer since they have a good safety record and they’re rides look quality and well priced and most of the ride models they have copied have had changes made to them that could make them more reliable for parks
Not gonna lie, the hot ballon ride actually is really cool. Though it does look like it would be a bit tight for more than one ore two people at a time...
That ride in your post looked so cool, I hope to see it in your video.
I really enjoyed this video, lots of interesting information and great pacing in contrast to 'flat ride of the week'. No offense, but your partner with the bad microphone in that series just ruins it for me personally. Omg 5:18 OMG! Nostalgic flashbacks are kicking in! I rode the original version of this style ride at Downey Park back in the 70s as a little kid! It was a centerpiece with the Hercules wooden rollercoaster as it's backdrop, a food court underneath, and next to a way too scary "Journey to the Center of the Earth" ride for my pre-teen brain.

Where did you get the data about "portable" flat rides being the most profitable for ride manufacturers in the western world? I always thought they make more money from the permanent parks. I'm curious where that info came from.
Can you do Larson loops or roller coaster games reviews?

Those look well built, bright, and fun. I mean I’m sure a lot of this is promo footage for either Nanfang or the park they’re at, but still. And I don’t find a whole lot wrong with knocking stuff off, at least not when they do it. I’m betting it’s difficult for american companies to break into their market, and I’m betting it’s hard for them to get the resources to try something totally new and crazy.

I died at the knock-off ABC rides (now owned by intamin cause they don't have any original ideas either, there basically knocking off RMC and Skyline for their "new line) because it's basically-at least originally, a chinese company knocking off another chinese company.
