Chinese EVs DOMINATE Bangkok Streets!

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Little walk in Bangkok checking out what electric cars are roaming the streets. Seems they are all Chinese. Also a bit of discussion about retiring early and if I should try to do it in Thailand or not? What do you think?

Thailand is very suitable for the use of electric vehicles, there is no low temperature damage to the battery, no car exhaust pollution to the environment, for a tourist country, air quality is very important, I think the leader of Thailand should also be very willing to promote electrician cars

The growth of EVs in Thailand is driven by the government’s support and promotion though incentives like lower vehicle tax for buyers and investment incentives for car makers to assemble EVs in Thailand, instead of just importing and selling. In fact, Thailand has the most number of EV charging stations in Southeast Asia and spread across the country. A KZreadr from Malaysia, driving EV from Malaysia and traveled to many parts of Thailand, even said the EV infrastructure in Thailand is better than in Malaysia and that they could find charging stations from an app easily and each wouldnt be apart in distance for more than 200-300 kms at most.

One of the best thing about living in Asia is you can wake up and tell yourself, 'I wanna go visit my friend in Bangkok,' or 'I want to go to Tokyo today.' Then you simply buy a $60 Air Asia ticket and you're there in a few hours. You can't even go to Vegas without planning a trip. I miss living in Asia so much... This is why there's so little mental health issues over there compared to here. Here everyone is so separated. Also in Bangkok I've been seeing a lot of Teslas more 3 than Ys, maybe asians likes sedans more than cross overs. Surprisingly the Chinese made Model Y seems to be much higher quality than my own 2021 Fremont Model Y.

Test drove EV's 5 years ago in Bangkok and made a vid about it. Said at the time likely by 2025 1 in 5 new cars sold here would be EVs. Last year at Bkk auto show 1 in 5 cars sold were EVs. When BYD and other EV plants come online here starting next year the number of EVs will likely double. Meanwhile Toyota lost the most market share last year. It's not so much a race about EVs, rather who will become the next Nokia or Kodak.

Due to superstitions, there's an extra special plate with lucky numbers (like 9999, 5555 etc.) and those are auctioning in the millions. They look "special" i guess.

May I have question for u? as a American, did u consider Colombia city, like Medellin? comfortable life, good weather, much girls, diversity food, internationl community enviroment, consumption level like Thailand, and closed to America. Cartel sound terrible, but it's past things. I noticed Chinese choose Thailand city divide to 3 types: business man or want more money--bankok, seeking pleasure or girls--Pataya, Quality retired life and education for children with less money(compare to China Ti1-2 city)--QingMai. I prefer Qingmai more. But Medellin also sound great. safety compare: Thailand people are buddist, most time are peace, but private gun hold number like America; Medllin cartel sound terrible, but it's the past thing, There are two much points worth to compare between Thailand and Colombia.

Malaysia is also great but they keep changing their MM2H visa requirements so seems a bit less secure. Thailand overall seems most friendly to foreigners for early retirement in SEA, but still lots of options. Mexico I'm not so sure, I know there are nice places but still you never know with the cartels and everything else going on... I'll look more into it though.

I’m guessing you can get the education visa for learning thai for a year or two, then get the self defence one taught by retired policemen, and then when you get bored of that you can go to a Muay Thai gym. The latter two may provide the service to get the visa stamp for you as opposed to the ED visa which you’ll have to get grilled by immigration to see you do actually know some thai. And if you were thinking of going to the gym anyway then the latter two seem like a good deal.

@@Eric_GarrisonCentral America can be nice, it just really depends on the city/town that you’re staying in. Some places like Nebaj in Guatemala, and Omotepe in Nicaragua are safer than US cities. Unfortunately though there is a lot of political instability (like look at Mexico, a decent place that only in the 2010s has gone full war between organized crime. Also, lack of public transport options are an issue and can affect everything, it’s lagging far behind any transit infrastructure in Asia (excluding a few cities like CDMX which are way too expensive for even US citizens to live in.) Outside safe areas though, it’s back to being dangerous and having to constantly be on edge about everyone you see. Very different from that more relaxed feeling you’ll get in Asian cities. It’s definitely worth visiting, but living not so much. 🫡

Shenzhen or Shanghai similar apartment but no pool or gym will be more like 800+ USD. Right now I got basic short term condo for one month while I figure out the next move... It has gym, no pool, but it is modern. Only 400 USD. Food and transit also quite affordable. I'd say similar to China.

Welcome to China, feel the buses, taxis, private cars, tricycles, electric motorcycles, all electric feeling. 20 million people in the big city is very quiet, the air is very good, the transportation is very convenient, there are electric motorcycles and bicycles that can be ridden by scanning code, as long as the slightly larger city has a very powerful subway, high-speed rail between cities, and the recently launched driverless buses and driverless taxis, in any case, you like the latest technology application in life in China
