China had the ability to repair every part of the Mig-15 for the korean war, however they never built any complete mig-15 airframes and the designation “J-2” was never used in china, the mig-15s were simply referred to as mig-15s. The first migs to be built in china were mig-17s, which are referred to as J-5s in china.

Very educational piece. Indeed the double delta wings is uniquely to China's Mig 21/J7E. They didn't simply scraped the old Mig 21/J7. Today the Chinese turned it into a small fighter/trainer JL9.

JL9 is based on JL7, the trainer version of mig 21. Only the design is carried over not the airframe. Most of the old planes are scrapped or turned into tarted drones.

Funfact, it took China about 3 years to put mig-21F-13 into production after acquiring licence for it from the USSR, the first domestically developed Chinese fighter was the J-8 fighter Which was nothing else But “enlarged” J-7I with 2 modified R-11-300 engines, 2 type 30-1 cannons from the J-7I and 4 PL-2 AAMs Which were licenced copies of R-3 missiles (not R-3S Which were upgraded versions of the R-3 with better gas generator that could keep the internal systems running for 21 seconds instead of 11) and with copied radar rangefinder from the J-7I. All of this beauty was put into production In 1980… 11 years after the maiden flight

They had ec as a event in air rb before .it was great but everyone was able to research multiple vehicles in a short amount of time and get tons of lions.i think that’s why they haven’t brought it back they probably weren’t making a lot of money in premium and golden eagles.also cas in rb isn’t bad just needs more ppl dedicated to aa that knows how to aim.

@@kwilliams3161 yeah but with the way EC is in sim you can actually do CAS without it being in the middle of where all the fighters end up. meaning people wouldn't go to ground battles to play cas. because i know personally when i play ground battles it's usually just so i can get my CAS fix out without playing sim

Want to see J-10 next update. The other Chinese plane I really want to see in WT is L-15B, which is the attacker version of the JL-10 trainer. Looks really cool for a trainer.

The flanker is faster..Carries more than double the ordnance the J does..the J10A may only be better in thrust to weight and radar other than that no..china was just getting building domestically built/Developed fighters at that time relying Heavily on outside materials and minds to bring it together.. let’s just say Israel winces at the J10’s development another example the PL-12 originally was just a AMRAAM clone Russian R77 seeker strapped to it…

I agree, I'd love to have some older aircraft in the game, my friends tell me it would be very boring and slow but I don't mind slow. Idk if it would be possible but having the ability to fire a pistol from a WW1 aircraft or other things that pilots apparently did would be right up my road.

YE-152 is a cute reference, but be honest. The J-8 is a trifecta of the best parts of the MiG-21 and the F-4 (perceived)

It's exetremelly impressive how far the Chinese aviation industries come. The fact that the J=11/15s can rival Flankers is a bit mind boggling. The only issue is innovation, they never seem to be able to create something from scratch without having used another design as a base, though they can massively improve on existing designs.

It seems that your impression of China's aviation industry still lingers in the last century. The Soviet Union's Su27 and its improved models were indeed equipped in large quantities in China, but the j10 and the latest cutting-edge j20 were products completely independently developed by China.

A very nice video! However one small correction: the PLA didn't field any Tu-2s or La-9s during the civil war, these planes were obtained in the 1950s around the Korean War

still kinda pissed that the type 59 gets a low speed half stab and the t54 doesn't but they're the same br even tho the first one is quite frankly just an improved model

The Type 59 is basically a Chinese production of the T-54A. The Russian T-54 models we have in-game are the first models, not the updated ones. The T-55A in their tech tree is a closer representation of its features, but the Type 59 doesn't have APFSDS.

@@tianhaoju4634 The ZTZ59A is in a weird spot, where it sits between the capabilities of the Type 59 and T-55A. It has the laser rangefinder, but no APFSDS, so it sits at the same 8.0 BR as the regular Type 59. It's a sign of compression, more than anything, but I don't feel like the laser rangefinder alone warrants a higher BR.

The earliest J8 we have in game is J8II, which is already several generations old from the original J8. The original J8 is basically a scaled up Mig-21 to fit 2 of the Mig 21 engines. J8II is the all weather version of the original J8 by moving the engine intake from the front of the plane to sides in order to fit a larger radar.

It can face 4.3 and 4.7, the thing is that if lots of people plays and spams 5.3-5.7 aircraft the 4.3 and 4.7 aircraft will mostly find matches against 5.3 and 5.7, leaving aircraft that are ≤4.0 finding more downtier matches than uptier matches, you can feel this quite a lot when you fly near the toptier BR but with the BR of your plane being 1.3 lower than the highest BR in the game

@@Bf109F-4lover yeah but that's more an issue caused by the playerbase who only plays one aircraft, mostly the most broken ones, which causes these kind of issues. Back in time some BRs were blocked (the one that comes to my mind is the 7.3 and 7.7 1-2 years ago), this caused that 7.3 aircraft could only fight against 7.3 or in downtier while 7.7 were 99.99% of the times fighting 8.7 and the rest of the time against planes between 7.7 and 8.3 Only BR changes can change this, the more an aircraft is used the higher the probability of that aircraft to go up to a higher BR will be

The Su-15 employed the K-8 missiles, these are only good for bombers. It does have two R-60s and a twin 23mm gun pod, but then its lack of flare and RWR would make it something of a super F-104A type of plane, I guess gaijin just cant be bothered to balance it, its either stomping mig15s and sabers or its getting dunked on by F-8s or harriers

@@MR250RGUY yep, but never the tanks took over to the planes in such a way it is absolutely impossible to fly. The planes and helicopters are so powerful you just appear at spawn and back to the garage. 3 times in a row. Every game i m killed at least 1 time by air, often 2 times. No aa protection, since aas are used anti tank. Much more efficient than other guns for that.
