New York City has the largest Chinese population of any city outside of Asia. There are a few Chinatowns across NYC and the Manhattan Chinatown was the original one. It has the highest concentration of Chinese people in the Western Hemisphere, it is also one of the oldest Chinese ethnic enclaves. The Chinese American population of the New York City metropolitan area was an estimated 893,697 as of 2017.
Today is a very lively and for me one of the most interesting neighborhoods of NYC with lots of history, atmospheric streets and great choice of food.
