I am an Australian. My wife and I have lived in China for eleven years. My wife has travelled alone on the metro without any problems at all. Young girls coming home from the city to the suburbs at night do it without any concerns. China is a safe place and not at all like India Britain or USA. Australia is not bad but not as safe as China. It is a Chinese cultural thing.

Well. I believe animals are not that safe from some of their perverts in India at all. Look up a 4 feet lizard was gang raped in India (probably in 2023 news). Sometimes, sheep or goats gave birth to deformities that had 'human' features etc. You can work that out.

In India, one raped reported every 18 minutes! Horrible! In democracy, female right can take a long, long time to get it right. It took us about ~200 years, and finally, “no means NO!”. I wander how long it’s going to take india to get it right. In China, “culture revolution” righted many issues and got old dynastic mentality corrected to the 21st century. Female right was one of the issues, “female can hold up half the weight”, no concubine, one husband one wife,,,,. Of course, as well, Chinese females worked hard and earnestly gained their societal respects. Respect for the lady to speak out about the rape, hopefully, it will encourage other Indian female, and male, to louding out been victimized.

I admire you for speaking out loud and shout for improvement. I travelled with my family last summer in New Delhi for 1 week. Background, I’m a mid-age Chinese woman and my husband is a strong Caucasian man, my son is a good size strong teenager. Not only me, all three of us felt extremely uncomfortable and myself, very much in fear for my safety. It was hot and I had one baggy mid length shorts with long sleeve loose top, nothing transparent nothing exposing, like a garden day outside. I felt hundreds of eyes on my legs and more men coming close to me despite my male family beside me. Talking about this type of experience, several of my colleagues experienced same. I like how rich in culture India is and wish to go back for more but I do felt afraid of doing so. Hope the government can pay attention to this issue and act to improve.

Not really I'm Indian and I know there are so many social issues in India but we are improving it's getting better than before it will take some time but I'm sure it will become a very safe country, People are getting educated and literacy rate is improving, And here are very tourist friendly places exists in India like Goa, Kerala, Meghalaya, Uttarakhand, Lakshadweep, Andaman Nicobar Islands, Ladakh and some more, And Dharamshala were people from Tibet and Dalai Lama living freely and safe which are here because of China Invaded their land and People calling China country far better country than India is really pissing my mind, A country which shut down people voice and there puppet media also master in hiding these problems quite opposite to India is the reason people thinking there are no problem really exists in China. I lived in Beijing for 6 months and the people are very friendly and respectful. I visited Tiananmen square in the middle of the night without any problem or fear for my safety. The Chinese people praise you if you can speak a little bit of Mandarin. India is the worst place for tourists as you will be ripped off from every place you visited and starting from the airport when you arrive. The baggage handlers (porter) are the biggest scammers. I saw a porter run away with one of the tourist guy's luggage. Immigration officers respect the white people only. If you are brown or black then you will be treated like second class citizens regardless of your citizenship. You can't go out in the middle of the night by yourself even if you are a male.

Just imagine what is happening to local Indian women!!!

My daughter perusing MBBS from China went on a solo trip to Beijing her plane landed at 1am morning her hotel was 2hrs drive .I as a mother would never have allowed her a solo trip in India .I were much agree with you

I live in china with my Chinese girlfriend. It's incredibly safe here in China. In 2019 we travelled to northern India (new Delhi, Agra, etc), and while we did get hassled in Delhi, on the whole we had an amazing time and did not feel unsafe. But my girlfriend (who has travelled all over the world) said she was glad i was with her, and wouldn't have gone on her own.

China is any day better for women ❤

I still remembered the 2012 news of the 23 year old female student being gang raped in a bus in ND. Six men caught and even 2 police officers were susoended.She was later trsnsferred to elizabeth hospital singapore in critical condition needing transplant treatment but passed away anyway . There was protest then 12 years ago and now . I am not sure the Indian govn cares much about this issue or they just do not know how to deal with this. It could be the because indians are extremely patriachal society then made worse by the caste custom practised.

I have a Korean friend and she's one of my best friend, she complained to me the other time during New Year's Eve, and Indian guy kept trying to touch her.... Until she reached me and her friends letting us know what was happening, I grabbed the Indian guy's arm and said "leave her alone she is not interested in you" and the guy did that head shake how most indian people do, and he goes "sorry" and shrugged his shoulders and then for some dumb reason he went after my Korean friend's friends who were also girls and he asked for their numbers and they said no and quickly walked away and me and my Korean friend walked off too, he kept asking the girls but the girlskept ignoring him and it took him ridiculously half an hour before he gave up. Then he went after this indian girl who was beautiful and pretty looking but I saw her shaking her head and he kept chasing after her as well. It's like he's desperate for a partner or something?? The Indian government doesn’t express any desire to propose changes to make India safer for women.

the main issue is corruption within the Indian governments at national to provincial level. And there's not enough strict policing to enforce the law and to keep people safe. Another main issue is, democracy. Majority of people living in self-claimed democratic society don't understand what democracy is....to them, they think democracy means they can do whatever and say whatever they want without consideration of responsibility.

I know this is about China vs India female tourist safety issue, but I also watch a lot videos tackling India's economy surpassing Japan and China. I mean who cares about GDP really, when no one wants to go to your country. I mean you can always change your economy but your people's psychology/behavior, may take a century or can never change at all.

Does India's economy surpass China and Japan? Why haven't I heard of it? In 2023, India's GDP is 1/6 of China's and 7/10 of Japan's.

Once there is a youtuber called travellight having the same experience in India as the Spanish couple biker. When she got back the the US and recorded and post what had happened on her in India，she was threatened to death by tons of Indians. What is then end? She deleted all the videos in India and quit KZread, maybe never get back.

Truly sad, to have been experiencing with my wife during our visit to India. Lets just say, never again visit this savage country ever again. Even, in my hometown UK isn't safe anymore. No one should compare China and India. It's just disrespectful to the Chinese people. China is a very safe, super clean, super techno country (fully recommended for anyone to visit). Even, in Russia, our new hometown is also very safe and very clean to live (except when the snow melted, the roads are becoming muddy and dirty). Young girls can walk home alone at midnight with no problems.

I've been to China and used to live in USA for 6 years. China is very much safer compare to USA.

I often travel alone for business and leisure. Its important to inform your family members about your itinerary and keep your embassy emergency contact as well. I would said whenever I travel to India for business, everything was arranged by company. Dare not step outside of hotel at night. I must said why China is safer due to its enforcement and home education.

In India, even the car exhaust pipe is not safe.
