⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠Soundbytes: Chinese mainland is going to punish five prominent Taiwan personalities according to the law for their spreading rumors and smearing the mainland, said a mainland spokesman on Wednesday. It also seeks to introduce legal measures to punish so-called “diehards” whose actions and rhetoric aggressively promote Taiwan secession, targeting activities that attempt to split the country or incite separation.
