China slams meeting between US and Taiwan

China has accused the United States of undermining their relationship and violating a series of agreements after a meeting with Taiwan last week saw top US and Taiwanese diplomats holding a public lunch meeting in France.
US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken recently said China was “acting more aggressively overseas and was becoming more authoritarian at home”.
Asia correspondent Adrian Brown went on to say the United States should be prepared to stand up to China.
“People say the one area where that is possible, not likely but possible is Taiwan, that is the democratic island that is just 160 kilometres off the Chinese coast,” he told Sky News.
“It is where nationalist forces fled China after the end of the civil war more than 70 years ago and ever since then China has continued to regard Taiwan as a part of its territory while Taiwan gives the illusion of being separate.”
Mr Brown said “no one really knows” how US President Joe Biden would react if China tests the US’ commitment to protect Taiwan but says a problem China has is Taiwan’s national identity.
“For more than 70 years Taiwan has been out of the fold and what you’re seeing developing in Taiwan … is that there’s a lot more of a Taiwan identity now.”

    I used to work in the semiconductor industry and Taiwan leads the world in semiconductor processing technologies. There is a high probability that many of the chips in your phone or computer come from Taiwan. They also are among the leaders in wireless networking equipment. This is another reason why the world should not let China take over Taiwan.

    This is why you SHOULD NEVER OUTSOURCED ANY OF YOUR U.S INDUSTRIES! When Taiwan got hit by an earthquake, you got hit by an IC CPU chip shortage. When Thailand got hit by floods, you got hit by a hard drive shortage. When will you Americans ever learn? The TFT technology can offset this problem but you will have to re-engineer your entire computer engineering design and architectture.

  • @eScapes1

    @eScapes1

    @@darthvader5300 the thing is that semiconductor manufacturing is increasingly more complex and expensive. Chip factories (fabs) cost many billions to establish these days and so the number of fabs in the world has consolidated over the years. The Taiwanese stayed at the forefront of the game. Any US chip company that needs the latest tech to stay competitive in performance and cost often choose Taiwanese manufacturers. They may also second source in Korea, Japan or Singapore. Having a fab in the US doesn't guarantee your supply chain. Fabs breakdown or burn down. The supply chains for spares, gases, chemicals, masks, packaging etc extend around the world.

And that the original is the successor. And that war is peace and up is down... The original is the old, the successor is the new. And the old can't be the new. _ _ _ _ Who gives the ROC their right to make decisions for China? The Chinese people. Who gives the PRC their right to make decisions for China? The Chinese people. Which peoples of China have the right to represent the peoples of China? The Chinese people fought a civil war over this. This war has reached a stalemate, but it's pretty clear which of the two sides has the upper hand. The Chinese civil war is in stalemate. But we can't keep their status in Limbo forever. So the UN looked at this China-v-China war and declared China the representatives of China. Judging by your previous comment you don't want the UN to be the tiebreaker. Let the Chinese people decide for the Chinese people. They could finish the war the old fashioned way. PRC would win... Maybe not if USA gets involved. The reasoning is because "it is not for some third party to decide", even though you're more than happy for third parties to get involved in a conflict. With this level of doublethink I'm not surprised you buy into the narrative that the citizens of the PRC hate the government that bright them prosperity.

    In this video clip you will find that there is a three corners meeting between US, CHINA and TAIWAN held in France. As it is expected China is the only party speaking abrasively at the meeting. The contents of the meeting are selves explanatory. In this respect allow me to give you my two cents worth:- Taiwan occupied the island more than seven decades. It was China’s first President, Mo Chak Tong allowed President Chang Kai Sek to occupy the island called Taiwan. Under this circumstance has ever right to stay on. China cannot unilaterally kick President Tsai Eng wan out of Taiwan. To be fair to China, let us look into this issue in this case. China has also claimed the whole of South China Sea just because there is the word “CHINA is there. Ridiculous isn’t it ? The theory applies to Taiwan. Taiwan was given by Mou to Chang. It’s no longer belongs to China.

    Taiwan has never been part of communist china, not one single day. I've worked in the tech sector for many year's & every high tech firm has their production facility's in Taiwan. Name any single high tech firm & I'll bet it has pcb's, semiconductors, capacitors & everything in between made in Taiwan. Trillions are invested in Taiwanese technical facilities.
