Absolutely, it’s interesting to note that Zhangjiajie, located in the northwestern part of Hunan Province, China, has a rich history dating back to the Stone Age. It was previously named Dayong and has a recorded history dating back to 221 BC. During the Shang and Zhou dynasties (1600 BC - 256 BC), it was under the Jingchu State’s jurisdiction. During the Spring & Autumn and the Warring States Periods (770 BC - 221 BC), it was under the Chu State’s jurisdiction. The Three Kingdoms period (220-280 AD) was a significant era in Chinese history, marked by the tripartite division of China among the states of Wei, Shu Han, and Wu. This period started when the Kingdom of Wei took power from the Han Dynasty and ended in 280 AD when the Kingdom of Wu was defeated by the rulers of the Jin, a new dynasty. So, the region was incorporated into central dynasty rules during the Three Kingdoms Era. Furthermore, it’s worth noting that this region is one(part) of the birthplaces of Chinese civilization.

Spent 1 week in Guizhou province for cherry blossom ( Pingba farm), rapeseed flowers blossom, Baili Azalea flowers blossoms and Mount Fanjing hiking. Absolutely stunning. Must consider during next spring season

The Chinese word for spicy is "Laah" with the 4th tone (which is like if you've just tripped over a rock and yell Shoot!). Just point to something on the menu and ask "Laah? Yes, no? (in English)" and most people should be able to understand you. They may not know the word for spicy in English, but they will know "yes" or "no". A lot of Chinese also don't eat spicy food, so this is a common question.

haha, in fact we usually print English in something like coffee drink. I guess that make us feel cool feel international, like some westen guys print Chinese on their body (even they dont know the meaning exectly).

The trains in China are so much better than the ones I ride in Canada.

I have just returned from a trip to China. I took the high speed rail from Zhangjiajie to Guangzhou. The first class has 4 passengers in a row vs. 5 in the 2nd class. The train ride was very smooth and It was on time for both departure and arrival.

China railway and road system are itself a wonder of the world. I was in Zhangjiajie 2 months ago when it snowed. It's incredible. Make sure you also see Tianmen mountain, it's surreal! Best to enter Tianmen Shan and Avatar mountains at door opening hours (7am or 8am) to avoid the big crowds. Even at 7-8am there were already many ppl queuing.

Thanks for the sharing, Alina 👍 Despite of the huge high speed rail system in the entire China with such big fleet, it is unbelievable that they are punctual all the time 💪 Zhang Jia Jie is an amazing nature reserve / famous scenic spot. If you have time, you may consider to also visit the Jiuzhai Valley National Park at Sichuan Province. The colourful ponds are very beautiful.

Wow Alina! I'm tuning in for the next 15 minutes ahead! Travelling around Canada is definitely not like travelling in Asia as the geographic's, religion, and way of life are a bit different which shape the way people think. Also language is a major factor! Looks amazing though and would take a trip there one day, God willing! Stay safe and always make a mental image of a DD lol (A Canadian Should know) lol!

I was just there last year and also rode on that train from Guangzhou South Station. Hope you enjoy Zhangjiaje as much as I did.

Just returned from Shanghai from a 10 day trip along Quanzhou, WuyiShan, Hangzhou, and Shanghai. I love the railway system, extremely reliable and convenient!

A small tip to pronounce the last word in Zhang Jia Jie. We actually do pronounce the letter "e"- think as saying "yes," just drop the letter "y and "s." Look forward to seeing your next video.😊

Spring (March to May) is the flower season in Zhangjiajie. At this time, the temperature in Zhangjiajie is suitable and the sky is blue. It is the most suitable time of the year for hiking and exploring.
