Established Titles is arguably a scam, which doesn't sell land/real titles, doesn't show evidence of treeplanting and is run by the same Hong Kong team as Kamimoto Knives and reverse auctions. Scott Shafer did a good expose on it.

@@trixfrank1 Still, history clearly shows totalitarian regimes are not that successful in war against the more democratic superpowers. I would've given China far more chance if Xi wasn't turning them into North Korea 2.0. They will both watch and learn but ultimately the US will be the one who will act better. Also what is missing from this analysis is China many issues that US just doesn't have. Their demographic bomb, them running out of water in the north, their economy and middle income trap, their over reliance on foreign energy imports and the fact that their two biggest allies, Russia and the Islamic regime in Iran are either getting screwed or are leaving on borrowed time.

A number of important issues that weren't mentioned: The Demographic collapse of China which halves its population by 2050 Supply chain issues as the Trade Lanes become very risky as the US Navy stops policing world commerce. The supply of credit is limited. World currency will be chasing safety and profit; usually in the US. This means a lack of investment for China. China is running out of water, oil and gas to maintain its industry. Its Lignite is almost gone which increases its reliance on imports. The breakdown of China's espionage system in the West. The bailing out of western companies from China. With them, goes the company's intellectual property. Mismanagement of COVID lockdowns and vaccines. This undercuts the Chinese economy. The end of China's hyper financing. The rate at which the Yuan is expanding is astounding. This must come to an end. A world wide depression will limit China's sales to America and Europe. Xi may want to control events, but everyone in the world will be hurting. Everyone will be scrambling for supplies. China will get hind tit.

@@Kamome163 The Confucius Institutes would be a good place to start. Next, every student allowed to study in the US is forced by the Chinese Communist Party to be a spy. Many Chinese companies in the West are in fact controlled by the CCP intelligence agencies. Western companies which attempt to do business in China are often required to divulge their intellectual property. A search for Chinese commercial espionage on the Web will provide more info than you can read in a year. The Han Chinese are very intelligent , but Chinese politics retards freedom of thought. This fact makes it easier for the CCP to steal info rather than do research. Western researchers have shown that they can be bribed by the CCP. It doesn't help that people like Dr. Fauci of the US Centers for Disease Control paid for Gain of Function research in China which, some say, lead to Covid 19 escaping from a lab in Wuhan, China. It is a huge mess.

"Strong diplomacy" is the most misused term of the year. "Strong" when paired with "diplomacy" has always meant to negotiate from a position of strengh. It means being willing to initmidate and threaten your opponent. "Strong diplomacy" is indeed that Japan, Korea and the US are pursueing towards China because "soft diplomacy" has failed as it has with Russia. Perhaps you wanted to suggest "intense diplomacy". Well, if Xi Jinping considers emphasizing the soft power of China and scale back teh threats towards Taiwan then maybe we can go back there.

Can they become technologically independent tho? The recent push to grow china's internal high end chip industry failed terribly because the companies would just steal the invested money and lie on the production reports. This is an extremely difficult industry to develop (no wonder only the US and Taiwan are making any progress), it is not the kind of problem a country can solve by just throwing money at it.

Right, the Party has all these grand ambitions to "Make China Great Again", but it'll all go out the window once they get punched in the face... most likely by its own people already simmering from abuse of authority and stalling prosperity, and sparking widespread riots is practically guaranteed if civilian trade (with it affordable food and fuel) gets scared off by a crossfire of anti-ship missiles. The unrest would quickly divide and saturate the efforts of its entire security apparatus to include the PLA.

China’s assessment of its performance in the Korean War gets it almost complete backwards. They have been technologically lagging the US and western allies, but the PLA was a hardcore veteran force which had recently defeated the Japanese and the Nationalists. The PLA of today may be on technological parity on paper, but it completely lacks any of the old ideological fervour, theres likely less than 1% of the PLA who have combat experience, none of the PLA’s new doctrines or philosophies have ever been tested in any capacity but stage managed exercises, and multiple generations of single child families will likely make Chinese society far less accepting of military casualties.

Maybe you can explain how the Chinese manufacting industry grew and evolved so fast in another episode. I speak of the "forced" tech transfers. The IP, tech, trade secrets theft, and espionage in western nations. The western corporate greed that pretty much gave away decades of advancements. The Civil/Military fusion that uses R&D that is also in collaboration with other nations. How even to this day the US national science institute still shares all of the latest developments with Chinese scientist. I mean China's AI, quantum develpment are still highly dependent on US companies like Nvidia, Intel, Qualcomm but all that could change. New resrictions like the Chips act could see more added that involve anything related to AI/Quantum. My point is that China's rapid development has been largely tied to western relations and that could be changing. I think the US/allies are finally realizing they created the very monster they will now have to face if war breaks out. But who knows, China today is likely not going to see the growth we have witnessed for decades now. Xi is taking China back to the Mao days.

@@davidT.C it is forced when the CCP is NOT allowing any private foreign companies to do business unless they transfer all their secrets and tech. These rules are not forced on Chinese companies that operate in the US or anywhere else. Using market access to force companies into giving up extremely valuable secrets is blackmail. It would be different if the west did the same to Chinese companies but they don’t. The worst part is how many of these companies have been treated and some forced out after transferring all tech. Imagine the outrages of the Chinese and CCP if the west decided all Chinese companies have to partner with local companies and give up all company secrets or else no access to western markets. No, China was given free and fair access like no other. These companies already bring billions in FDI, create jobs, and train a high tech workforce, that is how they pay for market access.

China now seems like a bloated mess in many aspects. In terms of poltics. We have seen throughout history how one nation thinks their military is all powerful and ready and how little is actually grounded in reality. However it is wrong to completely write China off like that. We will just have to see when it happens.
