China's "Monster Ship" Anchors "800 Yards" From Philippines Vessel, Manila "Won't Be Intimidated"
The Philippines claims China's largest coast guard vessel has anchored in Manila's exclusive economic zone (EEZ) in the South China Sea. The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said Beijing’s new move in the South China Sea waters is meant to intimidate the country. The Chinese Coast Guard's 165-metre “monster ship” entered Manila's 200-nautical mile EEZ on July 2, PCG Spokesperson Jay Tarriela said. The Chinese ship, which has also deployed a small boat, was anchored 800 yards away from the PCG's vessel, Tarriela alleged. Meanwhile, the Philippines military has now called on China to return the firearms that its coast guard seized from Filipino navy personnel. Manila’s army also asked Beijing to pay around $1 million in compensation for damaging vessels involved in last month’s resupply mission to the Second Thomas Shoal.

@SSTan-cz7eo it was already recovered by the government. while the priced tiaras, gold necklace, and something else were already auctioned. maybe if rumors were true. there were items retrieved from the occupying Japanese in WW2. they may have surrendered it in Europe, which could be equal billions of dollar reward to the family, not to the Philippines government since it wasn't a government property

For me, as a Filipino, the behavior of China is hateful and, at the same time puzzling. Instead of solving its failing economy, it is inside our territory causing trouble. China will never recover its former glory as the world's manufacturing hub (my own perspective). Foreign investors and even Chinese investors are downsizing their manufacturing capacity inside China. These companies either moved back to their countries or to India, Vietnam, and Thailand.
