I hate that they say "Oh we all remember what America did with slavery." My great grandparents were slaves, we haven't forgotten either but it's not about the US because we've accepted responsibility for what we did. It's about the Chinese government not taking responsibility and being like "Oh well this [Insert Western Power here] has done this a century ago! because they've all seemed to forget about Tiananmen Square and Mao Zedong's famines and all the other shit that's happened half a century ago and still happen.

Not only that the US Also have Leaders, Politicians and even Renowned Influential Individuals who fought against Slavery and fought to destroy it even if it cause them to be frowned upon by the opposing Parties, The are also some US Senators and even Mark Twain who are against US Imperialism during the Philippine American War.

My ancestors were Polish slaves in Crimea and Wends who fled to avoid slavery, I was adopted into a family that owned two African slaves on one side and the other side has soldiers who fought for PA in the civil war, so I have no idea wtf I'm supposed to do in response to "but USA-African Trans-Atlantic slave trade, look over there!" As far as I'm concerned we still have deep rooted socioeconomic issues stemming from that era not only because we're still so close to it on a generational trauma/socialization level but also because laws were written that had those systems baked in, but even still, it's such a crappy distraction method. We're not asking Chinese citizens to take responsibility for something their gov is doing or has done, just pay attention to it or notice it, anything! We notice our bs, do they think we were all on-board for the Vietnam war? No! Look at what happened at Kent State!

Those how do speak English can go to study in Europe or USA. No need to censor anything. Most newspapers are not blocked and need not using VPN - only KZread and I think Google are blocked. I actually use it only to access youtube. I am speaking about the timeframe from 2015-2018. Often closing VPN apps wasin discussion, but there always were new ones. My paid VPN was always available.

They probably had a laugh about it afterwards when looking over the footage - as winston and matt might if they saw a fly in the background of their footage. • @ruekurei88

    3 жыл бұрын

Hardly 'controlling'. Hollywood is just a whore, they'd sell ass to anyone if they believe they have enough money. In order to get released in China, you have to have to team up with a Chinese company and pass certain requirements iirc, and Hollywood just can't pass up that money. Not sure about Tencent or Alibaba or other Chinese firms being more invested in Hollywood studios or movies though. It does ensure that China will never be under scrutiny in Hollywood, but Hollywood has been laying off 'social justice' movies concerning countries or controversial events for a while now because they just want to cater to all markets and while those movies can get Oscars, they don't make that much money.

Watching this made me a bit sad that I can't travel China in the future as a tourist. Right now if Winston, Matt & family members ever set foot (or change planes) through China or HK, they will simply disappear, without even a show-trial. Tough call guys! Mei ban fa...

If you didn't do anything wrong you shouldn't be worry traveling to China. Winston however made many mistake during his stay in China, he shouldn't be allow to enter China. And if I were China I wouldn't allow him there either, he send too many negative vibe. 👎

@@pleiadesstarr453 You are missing the point. Winston reports 'negative vibes' because it is the reality of life under the CCP. It is all factually correct. You don't get arrested on arrival in Europe, the USA, Australia New Zealand etc. for speaking 'negative vibes' on a You Tube channel. (That China is not allowed to see!) For most of the rest of the world, people are allowed to have opinions that differ from the ruling governments.

Showing the same farm again and again? Good old concept of "образцово-показательный" (insert facilities name here) invented by Bolsheviks in 1920s. It roughly translates as "exemplary", meant to be an example to follow for others, however the second word has other meaning "something to be shown". Other farms, schools, factories may suck, but that's why you show exemplary ones to naive foreigners, like Bernard Show , who visited USSR in early 1930s, and said he was fed excellently, "therefore there is no famine in Soviet Union", while in actuality it already was the early phase of the Golodomor. See, China has not invented anything new here (again a rip-off!), this concept of fooling credulous westerners by shoving only what they should see and putting on a whole spectacle for them is almost a century old. P.S. In a way, the idea is even older. Ever heard of Potyomkin's villages"?

I tried going through it but clicking on “none of these are my issue” didn’t allow me to log it as breaking YT’s policies. It annoys me that the 50c army can do this illegitimately but I can’t legitimately. Sorry this is so unfair for you both :)
