Its better that India pulls out of the Special friendship treaty...because Nepal surely sees India as an enemy now. Its time that India and Nepal go their own ways. No matter what China does....India should not intervene. India will make sure the project is sustainable and profitable before funding China will fund directly at a higher intrest rate to gain control over the country. Both hasdifferent motive this is why china is accused of debt trapping by others, if India saw the airport is not sustainable for Nepal's economy it will not invest you will understand the negative impact of such investments and unsustainable projects after few years and why India didn't invested.

India is not going to pay for this airport. Nepal should default on the loan. Only after that should India purchase the airport for 20% of its stated price tag. Because that is all it is actually worth.
