China finds digital, smart and automatic solutions to parking problem

Apart from expanding the supply of parking space, cities across China are working to improve the efficiency of parking with digital technologies and thus alleviate the parking problem.
The smart valet system automatically allocates a space and park cars, saving time from trawling around.
The auto-guided parking lot in Hangzhou can take in 400 plus cars. The same space, if used for conventional parking, could only accommodate over half that number. That's because without the drivers, there's more room to play Tetris with the cars.
AVG parking does not require as much space between cars. Standard bays are 2.5 meters wide - even can shorten that.
Many people in China have had this experience - driving around in the parking lot for a parking space, which is both time- and energy-consuming. Today, thanks to the application of digital and intelligent technologies, it's becoming more and more convenient.

My god, China is years ahead in the tech space! Indians can learn something from here. Invest in tech, not statues and temples.

So basically the limit here is the height of a building, speed of an elevator and autonomous pads that are transporting cars from point A to point B. There is a movie called ( I, Robot ) this tech reminds me of a scene where mechanicals pads do the same thing.

Chinese people cannot afford this parking lot. Parking is now a huge issue in major cities in China.

I can see the (immediate) future application of L4 autonomous driving system... maybe not quite "full" L4 is enough for this.

I hope China has their foot in the hydrogen door too because if the west wanted to reduce Chinas competitiveness an excellent way to misdirect is to build up lithium EV then suddenly change away from EV

replacing the entire worlds cars with 1 ton lithium batterys is unlikely, this entire EV smoke hides something else.

Look up sodium batteries. China is already the leader in that too. And btw China makes a lot of hydrogen buses too but the way forward is clearly battery EVs. The west can no longer dictate the future of automotive industry because the largest car market today is China, which is also the largest car exporter after surpassing Japan. So whatever is on display at Shanghai Auto Show, that is what the rest of the world will get next. German and Japanese giant brands are pretty much rekt.

@@multiplierfx6429 reassuring, cant help worrying about the logistics of EVs, they are legislating the market so the migration is enforced by law which means they can weaponize it. Their stated goal is to break Chinas dominance, I hope China is on top of this. There really is not enough lithium to replace the planets ICE cars and they will need to be replaced within 10 years, the battery dies. BEV is Completely not a long term solution.

you don't know what you got till it's gone. in countries like india you drive around for hours looking for a parking space.
