Chinese authorities have set up a high-level team to investigate food transport standards, after a report by The Beijing News alleged tanker trucks used to transport chemicals were also carrying cooking oil without cleaning between shipments. The mainland newspaper, which published the report on July 2, 2024, said the practice was a cost-saving measure. The scandal has sparked public outcry and prompted the Chinese State Council’s Food Safety Commission to order the probe.

The news spread after the bosses themselves tell their relatives and friends not to consume their brand of cooking oil.
If no one was punished in 2005 and 2015 and no measures were put in place for testing, then of course they will do it again, and again. Stay tuned for the same headline 10 years from now.
What, not cleaning? You’re not supposed to use trucks carrying chemicals for oil used for food, PERIOD. You’ll never going to able to assure a thorough clean out of the chemical in the container to make it safe for food oil.
This is like the Baby Formula scandal all over again
So it's every 10 years?
Gutter oil, sewer oil, water gathered from the toilet to be boiled 🤢
May as well be "gutter oil"
When is there
I live in Japan and this is why I never buy food that has Chinese ingredients or is made in china.
without cleaning between shipments? the fact that they use same transporter for fuel and chemicals and food is a scandal itself.
China doesn’t have consumer protection laws.
At least they weren't using septic tank pumpers.
Why is anyone surprised by this?
Who the heck used fuel truck to transport cooking oil? It's insane.
Will we again witness hordes of panicked Chinese tourists emptying Store shelves in Australia of cooking oil ?
Yall out there selling fake rice and cabbage, eating plastic green toothpicks, this isn't surprising.
Why am I not surprised?
This is a primary reason why I do not buy PRC food products.
Money and greed over life again🙄
This is not new they been doing this since the 70’s
