China As The Next Nuclear Superpower: Should We Be Worried?

China has maintained a minimal nuclear arsenal of about 20 InterContinental Ballistic Missiles (ICBMs). But according to US intelligence, China is rapidly expanding and is estimated to have about 1,500 nuclear warheads by 2035.
China may soon join the ranks of nuclear superpowers Russia and US, each reported to have over 5,000 nuclear warheads.

You should be more worried about the countries with 5+ times the nukes on the brink of war with each other. Tell them to reduce their stockpiles

China the only state : "not to be the first to use nuclear weapons at any time or under any circumstances" China became the first nuclear-weapon state to make public its NFU pledge, when it first gained nuclear capabilities in 1964, and the only state as of 2018 "to maintain an unconditional NFU pledge."[8] In other words, it has undertaken "not to be the first to use nuclear weapons at any time or under any circumstances" and "not to use or threaten to use nuclear weapons against any non-nuclear-weapons states or nuclear-weapon-free zones at any time or under any circumstances."

to put it into context: China is the ONLY country with nuclear weapon capability that officially adopted and committed to the "NFU" (no first use) policy. all other countries with nuclear weapon capability refuse to do so, including and especially the US. by the definition of "No first use" policy: every nuclear warhead china has, can only be used in defense. china have around 400, all of them are within china. every nuclear warhead the US has, may be used for offense to strike others first. the US has around 6000, a portion of them are deployed in its "allies" all around the world. and as anybody would know, if all others refuse to promise that they won't hit you first, but you promise you will self-restraint regardless and won't hit them first, you are taking a HUGE risk upon yourself. but yeah, according to the west, for the sake of world peace and survival of humankind, we should all be "informed" about china's nuclear threat to the region and the world. perhaps it's because the US's nuclear warhead is "democracy" and "freedom" one, even if it's offensive, but china's nuclear warhead is "authoritarian " one, even if it's defensive? 😂😂😂

im quoting this from a KZread account calls joyjones9803: “The US has 374 military bases overseas, spread across more than 140 countries and regions, with 300,000 troops stationed there. There are also 871 bases on US soil, including 242 naval bases and 384 air force bases. Since its founding 242 years ago, the US has only been at peace for 16 years, having fought in wars such as the Mexican-American War, the Spanish-American War, the Gulf War, the Kosovo War, and the Iraq War. Therefore, the US is known as the "most warlike country in world history." Which one is more fearful, diplomacy or military?”

Regionally we are the smallest fish in the pond all the fish around us are bigger than us but they now have much bigger fish to fry when they start to look outwards and so after decades of neglect they are now starting to worry because of their large territories and long coastlines and trying to play catch up like the Philippines have been on a big shopping spree since 2 years ago and not just them too, all the bigger fish won't be bothering us for a while because they will have other things on their minds for a long time to come, and since we only have a small territory not big enough to be a threat or a pawn as long as we can keep up our edge in this small pond for our own defense, maintain our neutrality and have overlapping friends with everybody I will say at the moment we should be in a sweet spot - small can be beautiful. 😁

What a disgusting point of view. Neutrality is just selfish protectionism and cowardly. Do you also ignore and walk past someone being raped on the streets? "Who cares about other people, as long as I'm fine" Perhaps Australia and New Zealand should have walked past Singapore during WW2 and left you to the japanese. By the looks of it you should side with China, I don't think we want you, after 60 years of development from the West you still haven't managed to get rid of Kiasu behavior. Go join the other dictator, your own dictatorship will feel right at home. P. s. Give our F-35's and tech back before you sell it to the China.
