We are known as Chin in Burma, Mizo in Mizoram, kuki in manipur and Bangladesh but we confer that we all comes from only a single root accorording to chronological view point. So to understand where we come from and what is our actual identity let's have a look on some names, Zotung, Zophei, LaiZo, HangZo, miZo,Zokhua.what is the most repeated word? I can say ZO is the most repeated word though other word may be applied as suffix and prefix. I think the word ZO is the only bone that connect us as a chain. ZO is our national identity of the Chin,Kuki,Mizo, though we now differ in linguistic, cultural, heritage, customs etc, if we can confer that we all come from the same root I hope we can also accept that ZO is our national name. ZOMI is just the opposite of MIZO those who can accept ZOMi why can't they just accept MiZO. Anyone who go through my comment, either you confer or not confer with my comment, I recommend you to kindly drop your argumentation below. Thank you Chin TV for your good work.

Basically it is always about fear of losing one ethnic language... In kuki community the majority is thado, so same to zomi the majority is paite and mizo dulian is majority... So if we all come together as one their will be another conflict regarding first language or common language for communication...... We are in complex situation.. one community want superior than other... As I have observed our family still not over with our dark past.. mizo betrayed his family during mizo accord.. after that Dimasa and hmar conflict but kuki n mizo stay as mute spectator..then thado Vs paite, chin refuge to mizo and mizo treated chin as refugee.. All these thing still in our mind so one suggestion is always objectional ... Lack of trust towards each other is the main reason...

In 1948 Hakha Baptist Association, Falam Baptist Association and Tedim Baptist Association were established in Chin State, 5 years later they all agreed to established and combined into Zomi Baptist Convention in 1953. It means they all agree Zomi for our Nationality.

taathang hatlangh we may have different names, differ in linguistic etc, we are one in Chin even before zomi was known we started dividing ourself when zomi movement is begin, very sad news trying to divide Chin state into two which will be so call Zomi state

Why we the mizo-kuki-chin cannot unite is just because of the name.... It's really bad.... Come on let's unite...I'm lushai.. But if they called me mizo, I agreed, if they called me kuki, I agreed by history.. If they called me chin.. Why not they were known as chin beyond our territory... If they call me zomi... What's do different.. Zomi is like a old word... I will also agree with that... Because zomi and mizo is not different... It's just like vathu(name of bird) which in old word thuva... That's all... I know my id well..

David Mang Ling (aka David Nun Tho) didn't get the types of answers he wanted because ZIUSA leader shunned some questions and answered them in a roundabout way so as to contain some disputes within its moat. I believe that I may not be the only one who wants Pu Go Khup to retort the questions more directly. Anyways, it is a good interview. Time well spent!

As a result of this interview I have to say that if the Zomi get approval from the Government as independent ethnic who will go to who and who stay as the same? I just only hope not to happens disaster, ignorance between our relationship or misleading to other ethnic group. There are tons of people who wants to do the same thing. We don't have to believe in how many we are(53), we can only believe in who we are as (Chin). I recommend instead naming Zomi they should name as Zomi (Chin) or something related to Chin if they wants to separate.

ZOMI is not our identity and that would never be our identity now and in future. ZOMI emerge only in 1953 when a handful people accept it. We came from ZO family not from ZOMI family. During ZO family zomi was never know. Why he don't want to explain ZO? Because he don't know about ZO history that is his weakness. Though the whole chin people accept ZOMI as our identity I personally will never ever accept. I born in ZO, I am ZO now and in future my grandson will be ZO. Well done Chin TV.

I don`t agree with zomi ,,,,what the hell they do? I understand fully at interview.who is the leader of zomi`s people.he said that they are not chin.that mean they are from india...he totally lying to chin TV,nobody accept zomi.anyway we are one in chin.but important thing we don`t have official language yet,so we should use English or Burmese language for Unity.that the way we have right now.....we are one in chin but the problem is official language.....

What is the meaning of mi? Do u really know the meaning of it?

We are known as Chin in Burma, Kuki in Assam nagaland and manipur, Mizo in mizoram. But what is this Zomi? Zomi meaning is same as Mizo.Chin kuki and Mizo are brothers. Zomi is not recognised by Chin kuki and Mizo. Will this Zomi movement be succesful without the support of Chin kuki and mizo, i doubt

Zomi is only a fews handful people. 99% of Chin people did not accept Zomi as whole. Pu Go Sawm Khup, is totally lying. 99% of people from Chin State do not like zomi. Hakha, Falam, matupi, paletwa, mindate, kanpalet cannot and will not accept Zomi. Becauase Zomi is only a handful group of people. Pu God Sawm Khup himself know every well too.

Here the real ZO + LAI + CHO + ect......= CHIN We must be Under One Banner! Of course, if we r under one Banner , the result will be always positive. But one things very important we don't have official languages so we must use English/Burmese languages for Unity. I see lots of Tedim and Hakha they wanted to use their own languages in public which mean a negative result for the whole Chin. ThanksQ

Have you guys realized that we are already "burmanized" as this interview itself is in Burmese. Why don't you guys speak in Chin or the socalled zomi or zo mi language. Chin State is for Chin People. Hence, please don't even talk about "getting district or something like that" again zomi ^_^ Anyway, Go Sawm Khup also can answered it well, especially in the way he said the ciimnuai leaders who joined Pinglong Agreement and Falam Chin conference were not that smart. However, that leaders were really smart.

thadou and kom have the same attire. U can call kom a thadou or thadou a kom. We are happy with Kuki. So don't bring out another nomenclature that came into being in 97. Instead of collecting all tribes under Kuki to zomi instead say we are one under Kuki or Mizo. These two nomenclature is the only umbrella to accept. So don't force people to accept your so-called zomi dream. The only place where there is no unity is ccpur lamka areas. Stop your paite dictatorship before blood gets spilled.

u should do your research first, Zo was the original and traditional name for all the people that call themselves "chin". Chin was a name given by the burmese and british people, which mostly is a derogatory term for us which is y a lot of people refuse to accept that word. Chin is mostly accepted in the lai, matu and other tribe community.

We are not one in kuki/Mizo /chin but only Zomi we don't care a baut myammar government recognised or not yet but we know our mother home land zogam and we are ready to protect our area where ever we are Zomi our livelihood

Chin state, there is not common language in chin state , in Burma, but, the Tedim languages is influence in chin state,and all around the world ,can speaking easily and understand ,it's call the Zomi language over warming in chin state in Burma,...
