man the fact that wave Goodbye is the first song to play with the reveal trailer in the background makes me think we are already saying goodbye to Splatoon 3 :(

29:41, this track actually brings a tear to my eye. i love how 1920's it sounds, how somber it is, how it sounds hopeful but we know what happened so its a false hope. i love how unsettling it is, how it makes you feel like someone's watching you ig. it feels really spooky but still feels hopeful and depressing at the same time. its masterfully composed and it really is one of the best songs in the entire game imo

I never noticed how the Alterna Space Center Overworld themes sound like the corrupted version of a national anthem for all the humans trapped down below. Like a leftover record player that's seen better days playing an old relic of a disc left behind by the humans. And it's main motif is a major key version of Happy Little Workers, which seems like Grizz made the company's theme a direct sibling to the humans, an homage to his ancestry and a vow to bring back mammals. Interesting to me!

Yknow, the alterna overworld 2 music, it makes me kinda understand why mr grizz chose that melody for grizzco. Its kind of hopeful despite its distortion. And yearning for a better time. It's somber, and he wanted to keep that reminder of his past and home and mission to bring it all back playing in his ears and his facilities. It's sad. It's like a lost home.

All "Alterna Space Center Overworld" soundtracks feel so uncanny, it has "parent says "this is for your own good" while buring everything you love/taking away what you love or doing something horrible in general" vibes and it creeps me out, they are very cool soundtracks but they creep me out so I'm skipping them ewe [spoiler] Also, if this is actual music you can hear in that zone, that's tachnically the first thing grizz heard after being back on earth, is it why that's kinda the principal melody we can hear in happy little workers? I guess it is intricately related to the whole grizz plot in splatoon, it would make sense

29:41 sounds and feels like false hope. There's a creepy effect to the music but the melody is cheerful and hopeful. Like the false hope the people had when they built the rocket. I think it's fitting this is the second theme as well, it's like you're listening to the humans build the rocket. The first one is more calm, they're just starting to build it, the second one is hopeful, they're happy to leave, the last one is downright scary, the rocket failed. You're actively walking through and listening to what gave the people hope, they had no clue it would be their demise. Only the elders did, which is why I think there's a creepy effect. It's the elders realizing they can't stop the younger leaders now.
