I don’t know if you will see this but the time around this came out i was only 5 or 6 years old, i was so attached to this song and this animation… It amazes me this was 8 years ago now, time really does fly. I used to watch this on my ps3 and i would be amazed,, i would play this over and over again.. I will forever have passion and love for this animation as it is the earliest memory of my childhood i can remember, thank you for posting this it made my life absolutely amazing i always wanted to be like luna i was so clueless back then..

The artists really nailed the art style of the original show god damn this is impressive.

I don't know how I never noticed this but like there's the homeless child, and the orphanage children, and a bunch of generally scrappy looking ones but the animator also included a child from a seemingly perfect home from what little we see. I actually appreciate that because it's not always obvious that a child is abused, neglected, or abandoned. Sometimes that have everything but love and that's still trauma, that's still harm. I love how much thought was out into this

I think for me it was a more relatable character. I recently learned I am autistic + adhd so I can’t turn my brain off but I just really want that quiet sooo badly. Often the quiet was found in the night while all the noise was asleep. So I think that just kind of yoinked me to Luna as a kid. I also didn’t keep any relationships when I started homeschooling so I was kinda alone for like 3-4ish years with the only other people being my brother and parents. And no offense cause I love them and all but-- noisy. Anything can be taken as an insult on either side because none of us can read the room, or they won’t stop talking!!!! Love/hate college. Love it for the peace of a single room, hate it for not having my cats with me.

Me when i was a children in the night waiting her for come to get me:

What's really sad is in the orphanage, only three ponies get up and can hear the music, that means only they were being abused there, and no one else, as Luna's song can only be heard by those suffering

I used to watch this for hours as a kid, it was my dream to be taken into a loving family and away from abuse. This was such a comfort for me.

I saw this back when I was around 11 or 12 and now at 19 I'm still trying to decide if Luna was taking the children to a sort of paradise away from their horrible lives, or if it's some kind of metaphor for sleeping and finding joy in dreams when your daily life is difficult.

I also doubt though that she killed them in the animation - so the animation most likely doesn't share the same meaning as the song originally did.

Duo Cartoonist deleted all their videos back when KZread was first cracking down on animation in general as being “for kids”, so that’s why.

This fandom may be out of its wack at times, but things like this remind me that talented people take their time to make masterpieces that will always be timeless through it all.

My favorite fan animation! The quality of the animation and the singing is absolutely stunning even almost a decade later! I remember being completely enamored with the back story and the animation. In case anyone was wondering, the song used is Come Little Children and the cover is by Erutan. Id suggest checking out some of her other songs, she's a really good artist who makes a lot of video game covers

I'm glad we all thought of coming back to listen to this, although I remember in the original you could never see the comments and my young self was never actually able to deduct why these children are being taken away, not that I read the comments I finally understand... This makes the video even more emotional.

Me too... I used to play this song everyday with my cousins and play dress up as the princesses here all the time. The good old days. We stopped that tradition when my cousins started to "grow up" and find it cringe to do so. I miss that time.

I was 13 when I first heard this song, and now I'm 22. From childhood to adulthood, this song is always comforting. Perhaps it's because I'm not unlike Princess Luna's "children of the night"... From being abused by my father as a little girl and watching my mother be abused by him as well, to forcing myself to recently move to a different state due to my complicated relationship with my mother and because of my other struggles, life has never been easy for me. To go to a place where I can be free and true to myself... What I wouldn't give to finally experience that kind of silence and peace. I know it could be wrong on some level to forego responsibilities in order to go to that "garden of shadows", but I don't like suffering the way I have been. I want an escape that isn't what my parents allowed themselves to succumb to. Perhaps I should stop my rambling and stick to using music as my escape...

@@gabudaichamuda2545 Celestia could've done the easy thing and allow her nightmare-ified sister to have her way by never letting the sun rise again but she chose to send her to the moon for the sake of her subjects. Celestia endured the guilt of banishing her sibling and the loneliness that comes with being long lived - all so that her subjects who counted on her to do right by them could continue with the quality of life they enjoyed. Celestia is pony Aslan.

I come back here every once and awhile, this animation is so beautiful and dear to me, and the song is so haunting and goes along with it so well 💙

This song is lovely, but at the same time, it feels like the reason Amber Alerts were invented

This sent me right back to my childhood 😭

I used to watch this a lot.. it made me feel safe and comforted.. i grew up loving mlp and luna in particular and even when i would get sick and go to the hospital to get needles i would watch this as a thing to distract me :) some people may think this sounds stupid but this is very special to me

The animation is still amazing to this day!

I remember watching this as a kid

after 8 years ... this song still falls me asleep..

I love Luna this was my favourite animation and I loved how Celestia got up right at the end knowing something was up.

POV: you watched this when you were younger and you came back

Me in my room, 2 am, this song... after many years this song could again give me goosebumps in my entire body...

4-5 years ago i listened to this and enjoyed it with my whole heart. I came back just to listen again bc i still like then melody 😭

i forgot how old i was when i'm watching this. this vid just blew my mind when i was a kid it was truly a nostalgic music i've ever heard this time

This was absolutely gorgeous!! The singer has a stunning voice and animation is Amazing. I remember hearing this when I was 12.

I keep on rewatching my old favorite mlp animations from when I was younger and now I think I’m getting back into the fandom or something cause this is gorgeous. Gave me such a wave of nostalgia and grief even. I love this song and animation

Watching this when I was 10 and now 18. Still an absolute masterpiece
