actually, fukase was the one who said friends became food. However, your point still stands. Gumi definitely seemed more poetic.

So, I created a fake youkai species based on this: *_Morinoko_* *_(森の子, lit. "Children Of The Forest" or "Forest Children")_* A fairly new species of youkai cryptids, usually found in large forests in Japan. They are considered youkai cryptids as there were no reported sightings of them, only some people claim that these creatures are there, though unseen. They bear a lot of resemblance to the *_jiangshi_* and the *_kappa_* (also known as *_kawako_* ) in terms of both physical appearance and behavior. They look like small shadowy figures taking the forms of young children with white, glowing eyes and (depending on the gender) a white exclamation mark or question mark-shaped (depending on the gender) marking on their forehead. Wherever they go, they leave a trace in the form of balloons floating in the air and plants with eyes at the top of them sprouting from the ground. They are said to be made from neglected or orphaned children and they are cursed with eternal hunger, causing them to develop cannibalistic urges. The first Morinoko to exist was apparently a girl neglected by her parents that was left off at the forest and starved for 20 days until a car accident happened nearby. She devoured the bodies of the victims and soon developed a taste for human flesh, which caused her to become a youkai, now known as "Gumi of the Forest". It appears that these creatures fear rosemary, so it is good to have that plant when going into the forests, as it repels them.

I love this song I really do, but I do think that its not perfect. (Sorry about my phrasing I'm not very good with words) it might just be me but during the lyrics both Gumi and Fukase sound really quiet also with the lyrics themselves I do think you could have been a little less direct with the theme, this is just my opinion but I think thing are a little more spooky if there a sense of the unknown to them.
