Children of Bodom Orchestral Medley. In Loving Memory of Alexi Laiho
Музыка
I strongly recommend using good headphones/speakers to listen to this.
I started this project on January 2022 and it was finished on December 19th.
It took me 12 months and more than 1000 hours. I worked on this almost every day of the year. Some days I rested, some other days were up to 8 hours.
I made this from scratch with the most basic knowledge and learning on the go, but also I made this with the purest form of passion. I only knew there were things called VST's and MIDI files, and you can do incredible things with them.
For more than... I don't know... around 15 years I've been waiting for something like this to be done, but although there are some children of bodom orchestral tributes here on youtube, for me they are not as epic and big as they could be. Don't get me wrong! They are great and I really liked them! But I wanted a HUGE orchestral sound.
So after the first anniversary of Alexi's death I thought I had a whole year to work on this to be published on the second anniversary. And after countless times wanting to give up and thinking this was too much for me, I did it, and I am incredibly proud for it.
So I hope you like it and I hope you can enjoy it at least as half as I enjoyed making it.
I would love if you share this project with the people that can appreciate it.
Thank you!

You really should make full versions of all these songs. It's fuckin awesome.
Alexi was a master. Imagine if they did a consert with Nightwish... Nightwish and COB were among the first metal bands I listened as a teenager. For that I'm grateful.

Don't forget Wintersun, friggin epic Finnish metal. But to your comment i think NW is already this epic orchestral level. And it's real orchestra.
I mean, metal has the most in common with classical out of all styles, then you add that Alexi was classically trained, this video just shows how deep the connection Alexi made it to classical since it just feels right to hear this. Very well done! I would love to see a concert live that is an orchestra playing Children of Bodom songs or albums straight off, would be so epic.

His classical training shines trough in his music very clearly. If you ever analyze the music he wrote you notice it very fast. Alexis music was a combination of his classical training, attitude and pure passion.

I was waiting way too long for this comment. You only missed In The Shadows from Something Wild album. It's one song not three. Good job Sir, you deserve a cookie. The last one right after the "drums solo" is half of the melody of Everytime I Die and the very last girl singing is the beginning of Kissing The Shadows chorus melody.

the amount of work that was put into this music have been astronomical. Thank you. Alexi would be proud
Earlier tonight I was listening to Children of Bodom and after wondering if there were any acoustic covers I began a journey. I'm pretty sure my journey ends here, because I can't imagine anything being cooler than this.

In site full of mediocre and trashy content, finding a pearl of creation like this feels like a blessing. Thank you and congratulations for this masterpiece!! I'm listening to it in repeat for almost 10 times now, and it's only getting better. Cheers, and RIP Alexi!
I'm in tears. Have goosebumps and are so happy to hear this. His music saved my life 8 years ago. This is not only a beautiful tribute. This is a beautiful way to show how advanced metal music is. RIP Alexi laiho. Thank you ones again for saveing my life with your music. You will allways be remembed and your music will live on.

This is basically what my brains have converted Alexi&friens music to when I've listened to COB. Never cared for the screaming, I cared for the splendid melodies lost by many under all distortion. You did a wonderful, commendable and arduous job!

Alexi светлая память тебе и спасибо тебе за великолепную музыку которую ты создал и группу которая была просто супер , одна из лучших команд которую я полюбил купив шедевральный альбом «follow the reaper» , до сих пор является моим любимым альбомом ! R.I.P. Alexi ты гитарный виртуоз и гитарный гений и композитор ! Всегда буду слушать твои творения и смотреть на DVD концерты Children Of Bodom! Всегда останешься в моей памяти ! Ты великолепен!
Epic! Can't believe that this is virtual orchestra playing instead of real. Alexi is gone but never forgotten
I'm amazed to this day how many people have never heard of Alexi and COB. This is genuinely beautiful. RIP to an amazing legend.
A beautiful tribute to a much missed and beloved part of our metal scene!
I'll love to watch this life in concert.
Children of Bodom was my first metal band ever. I discovered them when I was 14. This is absolutely amazing! I appreciate all the hard work you put into this. Alexi is gone, but never forgotten!

Alexi was not just a metal artist he was an artist that just happen to have a dark side that was metal.

Naw man, metal, music and artistry is some of what was good in him. His darkness was definitely drinking.
Someone make it real, please! And give him immortality. I want to be there 🥺
The fact that you (one person) made this with limited knowledge of music production is insane and it came out EPIC. Thank you so much for this beautiful tribute! God I can only hope one day we could see something like this played live by a symphony orchestra.
Chills and tears. Alexi was the most profound and genius artist I have ever had the privilege of hearing. When I'd be drinking alone I'd always feel one with COB and their music and understand certain parts of Alexi's life that he faced and never backed down including alcohol itself. He wrote literally about his own demise and told it exactly like it was with no stall or fear. I heard I Hurt the other day at the gym and having turned 33 today I can feel some of the cruel pieces of aging and some things that are damaged beyond repair. What Mozart and Beethoven and bach did for classical music and music as a whole is what Alexi did for me and my life. He deserved nothing less than to be honored in such a way because to me he walked with the greatest of all time. Thank you for this composition.
this is absolutely incredible for us long time alexi fans. the man was a musical genious may he rest in peace while his gift of music still brings peace to our hearts and souls.
Goosebumps. Especially when Bed of Razors kicked in @4:49. Thank you for this.
I genuinely have no words other than thank you for doing this. RIP Alexi
This is just LEGENDARY! Thank you for the hard work. Thank you Alexi for your music! Legends never die!
This deserves millions of views. I love Children of Bodom, and this almost gives me Two Steps From Hell vibes, an orchestra group I love. Amazing work! Also love the images used in this, especially the ones of the reaper. ❤
Candles.. Red wine.. Dark night and some musical moments never dies.. Greatness!
What a powerful, epic and inspiring tribute! It gave me chills. The work was gigantic, the AI images are quite beautiful and seem to tell us a story. Thank you for all your efforts and for sharing this !
Dude, I got chills, everything sounds so epic. What an awesome tribute, I am sure Alexi would have appreciated this
Oh my god, dude.... This is amazing and a honor to hear that someone has done something this huge. That's something wild I guess! Thank you!
It's so beautiful. It's in fact epic and the sound is so amazing. And with the right setting, it feels like you're sitting in a huge concert hall, listening to this being played by an enormous orchestra. Thank you for this masterpiece!
Fantastico questo Medley. Spero che al più presto sia fatto un concerto in suo onore. Pace a lui
This is an amazing tribute well done
Great job, at the same level of the Joseph Stevenson tribute, which still continues impressing me. A sibling work, totally. People, listen the two ones, they are equally excellent.
This was wonderful, thank you. ♥️
Hey man, this is incredible work. I know what it takes. Respect 👊🏻
Absolutely epic composition 👏 Rest in Peace, wild child legend! The footprints you left in this world will remain here for all eternity!
RIP Alexi Laiho, metal god, father, husband. May your soul find peace in the next life. You were loved by millions and will continue to be loved by millions more through your music. Legends never die. 🤘🍺
...when Lake Bodom arrived I started crying. Alexi Laiho was the reason I started playing guitar and making music. All the choices in my life, wrong or right, from 15 to 30, I made in the name of music. The same music that I loved and still love thanks to Children of Bodom. And I don't regret anything. Thanks to whoever created this wonderful video. Wild child of the Hatecrew, forever. P.s. forgive my bad English, I hope I was able to explain what my heart feels at this moment. 🤘🏼

This is what it called a orchestrial version.Pure Perfection dude. Thanks
And to think that the Wildchild was a violinist in his younger days. You know that musical genius was there, waiting to be unleashed!
Amazingly beautiful. Thank you for this.

Hey, great job!
Splendid! May your work reach Alexi.
This is amazing. Congratulations on an excellent job.
Absolutely beyond incredible! One of the greatest things I've heard in a very long time!!
Excellent work, What I love about this orchestral version is that for some songs, you break it into several pieces and assemble them at different places and the entire thing still sounds natural. That is really cool.
Dude this is an absolute masterpiece you made here! I will listen to this every single day ❤
This is breathtaking!
Absolutely spiffing! Alexei would be proud of all the work you put in and the magical sound you created!
