Childhood Lost: The Adultification of African American Girls

Across America, and here in Pittsburgh, a disturbing trend is putting the futures of African American girls at risk. It’s called adultification, a perception that Black girls are more aggressive and less deserving of support and care. A perception that can also lead to negative outcomes that take them from the classroom to the courtroom. Meet the people challenging systems and working for change.

Being forced to parenthood at a very young age(elementary), having to watch my cousins robbed my childhood, and I'm still angry with mom for not putting her foot down on her older sister that is in her 40's.

It’s disgusting how they have done this and I can relate! I feel very bitter and hurt to be gotten over on. I’m seeking legal counsel to hold my parents accountable for getting out of parenting. Black girls are groomed to be Moms and caregivers way too often without their consent! I don’t even have kids of my own. I am so sorry this happened to you!

Great video! I was looking for something that unpacks and starts the conversation about how the Black community has adultified and parentified Black girls not just the education system that does it as well. It’s a heartbreaking injustice that this oppression happens from all angles to Black Girls. I am exhausted as a victim of it and have suffered huge losses due to it that I pray my siblings and I recover.

Here are some video links that might help! ^^ kzread.info/dash/bejne/iKSXtdVygqWfZso.html kzread.info/dash/bejne/o32lm4-wcqbKoZs.html kzread.info/dash/bejne/fmeMxZJxkdHAcag.html Adultification is generally associated with young girls of African descent so I think just typing solutions for adultification will help. :D Good luck with your papers!

A safe guarding officer at a primary school in Hackney lied to social services to remove a 4 year old child from the school, cps found nothing so he was returned to the school and she did it again, she taught that this family hasn’t suffered enough so she then lied to police about the mother calling the school harassing her , Islington police went to the mothers home and arrested this mother aggressively causing alarm harass and distress that poor mother had to have back surgery due to that lie, this teacher is yet to be charged or held accountable for her actions . She’s now after the mother again saying that the mother is stalking and harassing her and us being aided by the police. Why is this white womanly allowed to harass this mother without fear of repercussion..????
