R.I.P. John Lafia. Thanks for the memories. Child's Play 2 will always be the definitive Chucky film and the character and series wouldn't have been the same without you. Thank you again and I hope you are at peace.

Yeah Child's Play 2 is hands-down the BEST movie of the series & it's clear John Lafia had a pretty significant role in the making of Child's Play 2 because the Child's Play/Chucky series never reached the height of perfection that Child's Play 2 had to be completely a 100% honest! .i.m.h.o.! & John Lafia was supposedly the most involved with Child's Play 2 then he ever was with any other movie in the series! & it shows! in the best way possible!.... .R.i.P.!!! :TO: John-Lafia!!!.... 🌹✌

@@BonecrusherT800 yeah i heard rumors that John-Lafia & Don-Mancini butted heads often creatively! during the making of the first two initial Child's-Play movies so maybe that had some to do with John-Lafia kinda dipping out after Child's-Play-2 .i.d.k. that's just rumor & speculation i heard!.. like i know one of the things they both didn't quite agree on was the whole Voodoo & Soul-Transferring parts of the movie & script & Don Mancini even touched on that briefly & mentioned it in a interview he did a while back! Don Mancini wasn't huge on the whole Voodoo & Soul-Transferring thing & John-Lafia was ALL for it!.. & it was mostly completely his(John's) idea!.... again! .i.d.k.! maybe i am totally wrong! but that's what i gathered from my "research"....

@@FoolishFlock I also forgot to say that John has never truly been given proper credit and recognition for his contributions towards the series and Chucky. He actually came up with the Chucky name and many of his one-liners and quips, and really helped shape his personality. He really should've gotten a co-creator credit along with Don Mancini and it's a shame he never has.

You have earned Horror Guru status for this upload awesome video and despite what people say i still stand firm when i say this is the best Child's Play film! Actually the first & second were great and they went down hill from there, I'm not sure what Don Mancini started smoking after Child's Play 2 but he needs to stop and go back to the old formula which worked! For Christ sakes they took Chucky in just about every direction besides space and him facing gender idenity disorder or some goofy shit along those lines. Sad reality is, It wouldn't suprise me if they went in that direction. Anyhow enough of my ranting and huge thanks for sharing this and preserving horror classics as they should be. Sad they don't make them like this anymore but what a great time it was to be alive and experience horror when it was in it's prime the 1980s & 1990s Fun Time's!

This is why the Second film works much better than the rest. The characters are going through their own struggles and are very relatable. The situation is very real. Foster kids have a lot of trauma and the parents who can't have kids of their own are often troubled people who want to make a difference. That is the main story-line until it goes to sht in the last act. It's acted very well. Almost as if it's not a slasher film. Child's Play 3 however is hammed up to MAX & doesn't feel real at all.

I still couldn't figure out why they cut any of the deleted material from the film, particularly since the film was only 84 minutes long, and none of the scenes in full length destroyed pacing really. Granted, I would have still trimmed the moment where we find out Mattson is a cheater (which is kind of a lazy attempt to morally justify his death) and any of the repeat lines between Joanne & Phil, but that's it. I would have honestly left the rest.

It sets up the events for child’s play 3 and it is a better ending than the original one. It’s understood why it was scrapped. It shouldn’t have taken Chucky 8 years to come back if already made into a new doll which is why on our vhs and dvds we get cardboard Chucky waving us off.
