The two kids and the two parents from the beginning showed great values, happy to see that there are still hard working people in Mexico. I think that if we had the right education we would be a very, very successful country, we already have the values! In my opinion, I don't think it is bad if people from the young age quits school to choose a working path. In various European countries (mostly Nordic), they allow young people to choose a trades path where they learn skills while working at companies that make very specific technology. Sometimes these companies pay for their university and they might even secure a job in that company after they finish the trades program.

same as me. I left school at 15, work but fortunately I didn't get into gangs. I work from 15 to 22 and purchase my own land because I knew I wanted a build a house

dropping out of school and going to work is the best thing a kid could do. Public school just molds you to be ordinary and does nothing to prepare you for the world.

I guess reading, writing, and math wouldn't help a kid to know what they're signing up for, how to ask for better pay, or making sure that they aren't getting cheated for their pay.

@@mzny4314 lol @ the idea a person even knows to do that! Thats exaftly what 13 years of school doesnt teach you (aside from teaching you how to read and basic math, you dont learn anything else) and even the reading and math comes at a snails pace. After 13 years of school a kid is barely qualified to work at McDonald's and even for that theu need to be trained. Lol anybody ever ask to see that worthless piece of paper you got after 13 years of school? Before "school" parents taught their kids. They learned much better and matured must faster. A kid became a man at 13. Public school takes you away from your parents schooling and wastes 13 years of your life robbing you of a real education. Believe me. Youre only smart enough to punch a clock. Go look up who started the general school board. Public school creates a nation of workers, not thinkers.

@@MrGercela64 it's not enough, 6 grade is nothing, you know nothing at that level, you need atleast 2 year of high school to survive in this world. people will take advantage of you if you don't even know how to count properly or how to read fluently to understand technicality words, you will loose money if you don't know how to do any of this things.

This is the problem with education, it takes so long for it to payoff that it makes it difficult to see it's value. What to many people forget is school is work too, it's not fun it's a lot of hardwork, you might not get as physically exhausted but it's still hardwork.

I am not surprised. I was a teacher in Mexico for 6 yrs teaching adults and even adults drop out or are ALWAYS 10-30 mins late from class or do not show up half of the time, but were complaining at times that they did not learn much when on top of it all they do not have the time to study or were simply lazy to. If adults are not responsible than what would you expect from kids?

This doesn't make sense. The interviewer is asking him questions in English. He's answering in Spanish. No way someone like this boy understands English. And no one is translating. Very confusing.

Better a good worker with values than a bad student, what is this documentary or the reporter criticizing or intending to ? Do they want 100% colleague graduates ? that does not make a country less poor. There are plenty of graduates with Bachelor degrees working for minimum wages or looking for jobs or cleaning cars...that is a big waste. On the other hand good students from Mexico have shown excellent education abroad I am aware. Mexico Middle school is longer program than other countries and absorbs part of High School e.g. Middle school in Mexico 3 years ... USA 2 years

I thought d Latin American countries were cool coz they had hosted some events like Olympics n Fifa but they literally suck. most of d countries have d drug trafficking problem. in some countries economy is inflated. I thought of migrating to these countries after seeing some white ppl there ,hoping these countries r developed compared to india.but most of these countries r as similar compared to india with regard to economy. I must change my mind to not migrate there

That lady at the end wants to force kids to attend schools they dont feel safe at, yikes! The kids are much better off at home if they have good parents like the boy working sugarcane fields. At school they might end up in cartels instead.
