Inflation is far more harmful to individuals than a collapsing stock or property market because it directly affects people's cost of living, which they immediately feel. It is not surprising that the current market sentiment is extremely pessimistic. In today's economy, assistance is critical if we are to survive.

In this moment, when you can use a capable portfolio advisor to passively learn about and experience a fully varied market, it has never been easier to understand how to increase your money. The implications of a rising or declining dollar on assets, in my opinion, are difficult.

The average American pays 29.8% of their pay in taxes each year (this doesn’t even include sales tax, property tax, and other taxes for specific items like gasoline and plastic or glass bottles) and yet we have no true national healthcare, no guaranteed parental leave, immense cost for higher education, and no guaranteed paid vacation or holidays...so I’d rather pay more taxes. Also, the American school system does not in any way prepare students for the real world (ie. how to pay taxes, budget, student loan awareness, etc) so most flounder when trying to figure all of that out. www.usatoday.com/story/money/careers/2018/07/14/how-many-paid-vacation-days-does-typical-american-worker-get/764199002/ www.usatoday.com/story/money/personalfinance/2017/03/10/whats-the-average-americans-tax-rate/98734396/

We in Sweden believe in a country where people can live without huge debts from being heavily sick or too poor to be able to go to school. Our taxes on our income are usually 30% or higher if you have a really high paying job. With all this money, we can provide free health care no matter how sick you are and it will still be free and you can go to any university you want without a big debt. There are those who will never be sick and never get children and those won't probably get as much out of this system as others. But it is an guarantee that if you get sick, we will back you up. And those people have been kids themselves and got free school and free food at the school. And now some cities are implementing free public transportations for kids during summer. We want to let everyone have a chance to be who they want without any economical restrictions binding them. We want to treat people equally. That is the lagom way of Sweden.

Very very affordable. Now it is 15 years since my youngest left the care and I feel really it is great that I now can pay back via my taxes as I got so much in parental leave and child care when I needed it. I see it as a "redistribution" over my life time. I get great support when I need it as a young family and with care when I am old. When I am not getting the benefits I am paying to the system....Brilliant. (As I got my children about 30 years ago the cut for maximum compensation affected me but I wanted to be with my children some so I was home for some months even as a dad. Now a days many companies compensate so it is 80% on the full salary to promote that the parents share equally and don't need to select due to problem that the cut of the system gives. )

Since 20 years my company actually compensated over the breaking point so everyone has 85% regardless of salary to promote sharing. The inflated bank loan interest that we pay for our mortgage has really impacted our economy. Nonsense. The nuclear family benefits the most from a successful child. Children historically have served as a retirement and care cushion in old age. Yes that child will pay taxes when older to reflect the investment society made in their success but that child will also give lavish gifts and money to their parents and siblings if they become successful. Modern parents want the long term investment benefits of a kid without bearing the burdens of maintaining a kid.

It's even better in Sweden than this short comparison. Every child is given a child support of £91 per month. This usually covers the nursery cost for the highest income parents. If you have a lower income, nursery costs are considerably lower and you will have some or even all child support money left over. From time to time, there are debates whether the child support of £91 should be removed for the higher income families who do not need it or at least progressively higher for the lower income families. I suspect that other countries are thinking about earning, deserving and not giving "freebies" to others, whereas in Sweden we think (at least historically) about solidarity. This creates a less violent and aggressive society, as there are fewer desperate, destitute and starving people. However, the last 20 years have been tough and we have more beggars and homeless than before.

the cost also gets reduced from 3 years and up i have two daughter 1 and 4 and they run about 2500 SEK a month which is roughly 200 GBP. in my municipality (this is not the case everywhere) diapers are included so you dont need to bring your own to the preschool. that alone easily makes up for half of the cost of preschool. ive been home about 6 months with each daughter and mommy about a year. we still have well over 100 days of paid parental leave which we are also able to save up until the kids turn 12 to use for chistmas breaks, extended summer holiday etc. you get 80% of your salary up to a roof of about 30.000 SEK a month, if you earn above that you dont get paid more, but even so. my last "paycheck" before i went back to work as a full time stay at home dad was about 24.000 SEK or roughly 2000 GBP which all comes from the goverment and not from my employer. however, many companies including mine also you give "parental salary" for 3-6 month. in my case 10% of my salary before tax for 6 months. so i recieved about 5000 SEK a month from my employer on top of the 24.000 SEK from the goverment which means that in total i was paid (after taxes) almost as much as my normal working salary would pay me. yes the system is very generous. Perhaps even too generous.

I believe the long working hours and less contact with the children is a contributing factor. Family life is very important to Swedes. My experience having one child and heading back to work before my maternity leave was up I believe affected by child. Leaving early for work and back by bedtime Mondays to Fridays. So yes, the government should do more for working families.

In Canada mothers get 12 months of paid maternity leave. Minimum 55% salary up to 100%. It all depends on the job. Mothers and fathers can share the first 35 weeks. unless they’re single dads or a dad in a same-sex relationship, dads cannot take the full 12 months. Only the mom can. Some provinces have 18 month maternity leave. I’m not entirely sure how that works. It’s not available to all mothers. I think it depends on the job??? As for childcare, it ranges from very affordable to very expensive. Depends on where you live. Quebec has the cheapest healthcare.

A fixed non negotiable cost basically functions like a tax. In the UK you can't not spend extortionate amounts of money on rent, transport or childcare. Most of our salaries are gobbled up by those three things. So would I rather have that money lining the pockets of private investors or, if I was in Sweden, paying the same amount in tax so that every citizen could live in housing worthy of the name and not be punished for having children (which is kind of important of you don't want major problems in the future when your tax base retires and there's nobody to replace them)? I think it's obvious. I'd rather be paying triple the amount of tax and have cheaper living costs. Have you actually looked at the specifics of that policy? I'll take it you haven't. The system for applying is incredibly complicated and it requires that you reapply every 3 months. That's arduous and it's very easy to forget. It's also underfunded-the amount the government pays to nurseries is less than the actual cost of childcare. You may also notice that it's free childcare from the age of 3. You are expected to return to work after 39 weeks of maternity leave. That's a long time to pay for nursery, and not financially viable for many mothers. It's worth bearing in mind that care for babies is more expensive than for older children so it's even less affordable.

If you work shifts, your pay might be less than your childcare, if you can even find out of hours childcare. The evidence shows that the first 1000 days are crucial for development. It makes good economic sense to provide high quality early years provision so kids from deprived backgrounds can develop in the same way as rich kids. Those kids then become more able to learn in school. Then more likely to get a good job later, and less likely to go to prison or develop drug and alcohol problems. It costs the state less in the long run too. You have a very selfish and narrow view of life. Just because you're OK, doesn't mean that others don't need help or aren't struggling.

Sweden doesn't have a minimum wage by default because business are made to pay a working level wage. Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland are my favourite countries. Canada is a nice country, too. Jag älskar Sverige. 🥰🇸🇪

in romania, after you give birth, you stay at home for 2 years and you get 80% of your salary. then, you can work and for another year you get your salary plus those 80% of your salary. in the meantime, all medical supervision and drugs are free. it's true that we don't have big salaries and good hospitals, but still.. we own much of our houses (80%) , and daily living is pretty cheap. i personally own my own house and i'm debt free. and many of my freinds and family aee in the same situation.

Free child care should be available to the most vulnerable of society those under £30,000 a year and struggling to work and live without claiming benefits and not professionals seeking to maintain their job and financial lifestyle in the early years of their childs life.

For example the United Nations Declaration or Human Rights, the 1st protocol article 2 of the British human rights act 1998. Some countries don't have any legal bases to the right to education, but most western countries do. As for the roads most people still use them even when they don't drive, through public transport, cycling or even walking but the added car tax tends to pay for those drivers.

In Belgium we pay the highest percentate of taxes in the world. Around what they pay in Sweden. But our childcare is hardly better than the UK. It made me not want kids because It's too expensive. It's like starting a business where you know there's no chance you'll be able to pay it all.. The Swedish government probably cares more about their people than the Belgian government they only care about their own money.

Here in Sweden we pay a lot of VAT tax as well that is common for everyone. I think you can say that we have a system where we redistribute over our life time. We get excellent support for young families with great parental leave, sick leave when children are sick, good affordable childcare, free education, free school lunches for all, etc. and we are compensated according to our salary. When the kids are not needing this we still pay taxes but we can see how our kids benefits from the system...and our old parents get good care too. I think it is very very smart to do it like we do and support the periods in life when it is the hardest. It also opens up for careers for both parents.

The reason may have something to do with the fact that Sweden has a 61% income tax compared to 20% for most people in the UK. Taking your money to then force you to spend it on something isn’t great, it’s theft. I believe its better to keep your money and then decide what to spend it on. Not have someone take 61% of it to spend on things you don’t agree with, need or want.

In your case, i believe it is right to allow you tax funded treatment because of your condition, as you have no control over it. But one of my main issues with socialist healthcare systems is that they cover preventable diseases, such as obesity related diseases and lung cancer caused from smoking. I agree with the right to help a child who has appendicitis as its not his fault and is not preventable, but i stop wanted to give my tax money to some obese person who now needs treatment for diabetes or gastric bypass or to a smoker who now has lung cancer. they knew the risks and choose to continue, it should be up to them to pay the price. Socialist healthcare systems also provide ethical issues such as abortion. i dont agree with abortion and many people dont, but its legal and i have to deal with that. but i dont want to pay for something that is preventable and that has better alternatives than killing a child, you want an abortion, pay for it.
